As you may have heard, the hit musical, Mamma Mia!, will be staging a series of shows here in the country starting January 24, 2012.

If you’re clueless, “Mamma Mia!” is a stage musical based on the songs by 70s Swedish pop group ABBA, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, former members of the band. The musical, on the other hand, is written by British playwright Catherine Johnson.

The musical includes such hits as “Super Trouper”, “Lay All Your Love On Me”, “Dancing Queen”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, “Take A Chance On Me”, “Thank You for the Music”, “Money, Money, Money”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Voulez Vous” and “SOS”. Over 42 million people have seen the show, which has grossed $2 billion dollars worldwide since its 1999 debut.

And now it’s going to be staged in the Philippines for the very first time!

Ayala Malls, being the official mall partner of Lunchbox Theatrical Productions (the company that will bring Mamma Mia! to the Philippines), shall be giving away actual show tickets to those who would like to watch the musical through a Twitter campaign using their official Twitter account, @AyalaMalls.
