As evidenced by the rave reception on the series’ characters both online (frequently landing on Twitter Philippines trending topics) and offline (high crowd attendance in mall shows), Nandito Ako is poised to be another top-rating show of TV5.

Nandito Ako will tell the story of young love, its joys and pains, among Josh (David Archuleta), Holly (Eula Caballero) and Anya (Jasmine Curtis Smith). Josh is an international singer who holds his final leg of concerts in the Philippines. This venture is also a quest to find his real identity, a thing that has been hidden from for a long time. He will meet Holly through one of the promotional activities of his concert. The innocent hearts will brew romance and will soon learn the ways of love. But love has its twists and turns and they’ll soon uncover realities that will change their hearts and minds. Anya, a boyish and carefree lass, is Holly’s bestfriend. David Archuleta is coming back to the Philippines and he is set to sign a contract with TV5 this Friday, January 13, to star in the Kapatid Network’s upcoming primetime teleserye.

Yes, you read it right. David is coming back to Manila not to sing but to act!

In the said TV series, David’s role was said to be caught in a love triangle between two of TV5′s drama princesses, Jasmine Curtis and Star Factor winner Eula Caballero.

The Kapuso Tween star served as front act performer during David Archuleta‘s The Other Side of Down Asian tour last Monday night at the Araneta Coliseum.

San Jose performed Rihanna’s “California King Bed”, Nicki Minaj’s “Superbase” and Paramore’s “Decode.”

It was during the “Decode” performance that Julie Anne lost her balance and tripped in her high heels. However, the Kapuso tween star stood up right away as if nothing happened and carried on with the performance.

David Archuleta personally extended his congratulations to Julie Anne after the concert last July 18.

“Nagulat ako kasi pinuntahan niya ko sa dressing room! Nag-’congratulations’ siya sa ‘kin tapos sinabi niya na okay naman daw yung performance [ko],” San Jose said in an interview by 24 Oras.

Kapuso tween star Julie Ann San Jose served as the opening act of David Archuleta‘s concert. David said Julie Ann has an awesome voice.

The American Idol Season 7 runner-up performed his hit songs like “Stomping the Roses,” “Other Side of Down,” “Elevator,” “A Little Too Not Over You,” “My Kind of Perfect (Searching for that Girl)” and “Crush.” He also sang Vanessa Carlton‘s “A Thousand Miles” and Bryan Adam‘s “Heaven.”

It’s actually Archuleta’s third time to visit the Philippines. The first time was in 2009 for a concert with American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook. His second was last November 2010 to promote his new album “The Other Side of Down” and held a mini-concert at the Sky Dome of SM North Edsa.

Later today, David Archuleta will grace Powerbooks Greenbelt for a book signing. His next stop will be at SM Southmall for a meet and greet session.

Tomorrow, July 20, Archie will be at SM San Lazaro for another meet and greet session.

His next stops after the Philippines will be Vietnam and Malaysia.

American Idol alum David Archuleta arrived in Manila today, July 17, as part of his “The Other Side of Down” Asian Tour.

This is Archuleta’s third time to visit the Philippines. His first time was in 2009 for a concert together with American Idol season 7 winner David Cook.

Archuleta was also in the country November last year when he promoted his latest album “The Other Side of Down.”

This time, Archuleta goes solo in a one night concert at the Araneta Coliseum tomorrow night, July 18.

Last night, Archuleta performed for the Ponds Teen Concert in Jakarta, Indonesia. And from Jakarta to Manila today, he will be heading at SM Megamall right away for a meet and greet session.

He will also hold Meet and Greet sessions at SM Southmall on July 19 and at SM San Lazaro on July 20.

Aside from the Meet and Greet, Archuleta will also grace Powerbooks Greenbelt on Tuesday for a book signing.

American Idol Season 7 first runner-up David Archuleta is making a coming back to Manila, this time for a solo concert!

It will be recalled that David Archuleta held a phenomenal concert with American Idol Season 7 winner, David Cook, last May 16, 2009 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. It was considered one of the most successful concerts that year as more than 50,000 fans reportedly flocked the venue.

Last November, “Archie” (moniker to David Archuleta by his fans) visited the Philippines to promote his latest album “The Other Side of Down.” He held a promotional concert and a little “meet and greet” with his fans at the SM North EDSA Sky Dome. But obviously, it’s not enough for them.

Now, David Archuleta is coming to Manila for a one-night concert at the Araneta Coliseum on July 18, 2011, 8 p.m. It is being produced by Ovation Production.

David Archuleta and Charice performed “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” at the said event. The song was an official single from David Archuleta‘s Christmas album last year titled Christmas from the Heart featuring Charice. The David-Charice collaboration peaked at no. 24 on Billboard’s Hot Adult/Contemporary Chart. And according to reports, the said track hit no. 1 in China.

Charice also sang “Jingle Bell Rock” and “My Grown Up Christmas List” while David also performed “Melodies of Christmas” and “The First Noel.”

David Archuleta and Charice are good friends since they met at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in 2008.
