What happens when an angel of death falls in love with a mortal woman? Are angels allowed to fall in love? And can a woman alllow herself to marry someone who may not be with her forever?

These are the questions to be tackled by GMA-7′s upcoming primetime series “My Beloved” starring real-life couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.

Dingdong, on the other hand, will play the role of a Death Angel who will break the rules and fall in love with a mortal (Marian Rivera).

Also starring in “My Beloved” are Mikael Daez, Paolo Contis, Jennica Garcia, Carl Guevarra, Alden Richards, Louise delos Reyes, Nova Villa, Chanda Romero, Ynna Asistio, Saab Magalona, and Katrina Halili.

The series is written by RJ Nuevas, Des Garbes-Severino, Vien Ello, and Obet Villela, under the direction of Dominic Zapata.

Boy Abunda is now certainly “Asia’s King of Talk” as his late-night program, “The Bottomline with Boy Abunda,” was recently hailed as the “Best Talk Show for 2011” in the 16th Asian TV Awards, besting top Asian programs, including “Talk Asia” of CNN Hong Kong and “The Euthanasia Debate” of New Delhi Television in India.

According to Abunda, who personally received the trophy in an awarding ceremonies held in Singapore, he was overjoyed when their show was announced as winner, he could not recall everything he said in his acceptance speech.

“I really thought I had gotten used to receiving awards but this one made me so nervous. I was in a daze that I could not even describe my reaction that night but surely it was way beyond happiness. All I can remember was that I proudly dedicated the trophy to my beloved country, the Philippines,” he said.

The 56-year old talk show host also dedicated his latest accolade to the men and women working behind the camera. He paid tribute to the “Bottomline” staff who are all passionate in putting up the ‘best’ episode every week. “In every episode of “Bottomline,” you can ‘smell’ the sweat and ‘hear’ the heartbeat of everyone in the team. Each one of us truly loves the show,” he stressed

Abunda further shared that he was at first hesitant to attend the awards night because of her sick ‘Nanay Lesing’ whom he has been taking care of since the latter was diagnosed with dementia.

“I was really confused if I was going to push through. Apart from the fact that I knew we were not sure that we’ll win since we were competing against the big names like CNN, I was scared to leave my Nanay. That was why I asked for her permission, to which she agreed,” Abunda narrated.

“Bottomline”s particular episode that earned the award was that of Maguindanao Governor Esmael “Toto” Mangundadatu’s guesting, which according to Abunda got the nods of the judges because of its ‘international appeal’ as it tackled the highly publicized Maguidanao massacre. He remarked, “There was a unique rhythm and certain rawness in the episode that I think made it a standout. Perhaps the judges recognize that the show is young, brave, and adventurous.”

The Asian Television Awards, according to its official website, is “the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognizing excellence in programming, production and performance.”

Star Cinema, Agostodos and MJM Productions as an entry to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The film stars the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, Kapuso top leading man Dingdong Dantes, and versatile actress Angelica Panganiban.

Also starring in the movie are Helen Gamboa,Jhong Hilario, Bangs Garcia, Angel Jacob, Ian Veneracion, and Rico Blanco.

“Segunda Mano” opens in theaters nationwide on December 25, Christmas day.

The blind item originated from Arnold Clavio saying an actress was jailed in Las Vegas during the Pacquiao and Marquez bout earlier this month for shoplifting.

Ruffa Gutierrez, who was in Las Vegas that time together with her mom Annabelle Rama, denied the speculations on TV5′s showbiz talk show Paparazzi that she is the subject of the blind item.

Zoren Legaspi, tagged as the new “Boy Laglag” of the program since Mo Twister (the original “Boy Laglag”) is leaving the country, made some revelations that it was not an actress who was jailed in Vegas but a Kapuso actor and it’s not for shoplifting but for a little misunderstanding with some marshals.

Apparently, the Kapuso actor was with his girlfriend at a Las Vegas club when the former decided to go out for a while but he reportedly forgot to get stamped so that he could get in the premise again. When the said actor was stopped by the staff when he was about to get back in, he had a heated argument with them that prompted the staff to call the cops. And rumor has it, the actor spent some time in jail.

EXIT is the acronym for “End Exploitation and Trafficking” and it’s a campaign sponsored by MTV channel to fight exploitation and human trafficking in the region, considered one of the biggest problems in the world.

Dingdong Dantes will represent the Philippines in the worldwide effort to fight human trafficking. He will also host a half-hour documentary titled “Enslaved: An MTV EXIT Special.” The documentary will give audiences a real and rare glimpse into human trafficking and exploitation in the Philippines, telling stories of human trafficking survivors and highlighting what everyone can do to help end this horrific crime.

“Enslaved: An MTV EXIT Special” will premiere on GMA NEWS TV Chanel 11 on November 27 at 9:55 PM.

MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking), in partnership with the Philippines Government, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Australian Government’s Agency for International Development (AusAID) will also hold a free Live concert in Manila on October 29.

MTV EXIT Live in Manila will bring together international and local artists to raise awareness and help prevent human trafficking and exploitation. The free outdoor concert will be headlined by Korean pop sensation, Jay Park, and held at SM Mall of Asia concert grounds. Joining the line-up will be Californian alternative rock band, Evaline and top local artists Parokya Ni Edgar, Pupil, Ebe Dancel, Itchyworms, and will be hosted by MTV VJ Holly. Dingdong Dantes, who is the new MTV EXIT Celebrity Ambassador in the Philippines, will also grace the event.

Dingdong Dantes will portray the role of a charming bad boy in Aswang Chronicles, a horror-adventure movie written and directed by Erik Matti and produced by Dondon Monterverde‘s Revolver Studios and Reality Entertainment.

The movie should not be confused with the Lovi Poe starrer, “Aswang” (CLICK HERE FOR RELATED ARTICLE). “Aswang Chronicles” is light horror with a hint of comedy while Regal’s “Aswang” is pure horror. Furthermore, Lovi Poe is also a cast-member of “Aswang Chronicles” playing the role of Dingdong’s girlfriend. This is perhaps the reason why this film is slated for 2012 showing.

Other cast-members of “Aswang Chronicles” include Joey Marquez, Ramon Bautista, and Roi Vinzon.

Aside from Aswang Chronicles, Dingdong Dantes is also filming the MMFF entry “Segunda Mano” with Kris Aquino and the international movie “Dance of the Steelbars.”

So how did it become possible for Kris Aquino and Dingdong Dantes to star in one movie since they’re from rival networks?

Kris said Dingdong went to Atty. Gozon to ask for permission to do a project with Star Cinema. GMA Films agreed in exchange for her to do a movie with them in 2012.

“So, ang hiningi lang nila was that I sign a contract that will state na I’ll do a movie with GMA for 2012,” she added.

The horror movie which is under MJM Productions will also star Angelica Panganiban and will be directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal.
