The spotlight is definitely on Marian Rivera, GMA’s hottest TV star and probably the Philippines’ hottest TV star, too because after winning the FHM Sexiest Pinay title, her fantaserye “Dyesebel” continues to be the top-rating tv series nationwide.

Being defeated by a game show by only 0.2% in the nationwide ratings last month could be very painful for the cast and crew of Dyesebel which conquered NUTAM last April but their consolation lies within their turf – the Mega Manila ratings.

AGB Nielsen has released the nationwide tv ratings for the month of May and ABS-CBN’s karaoke game show The Singing Bee bested April’s leader Dyesebel by a slim 0.2 percent.

In the comparative TV ratings of the two rival networks from May 5 to 8, 2008, the fantaserye “Dyesebel” starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes crushed its competition since it premiered last April 28, 2008. It’s rival program “Lobo” starring Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual is only receiving half the ratings of Dyesebel on the average.
In the battle of game shows, Pilipinas Game KNB? with its new format strengthened its dominion against GMA’s Da Big Show. In the primetime block, Gobingo was able to beat Wheel of Fortune last Monday for the first time. But it succumbed to the Kris Aquino game show the next day until Thursday.

Angel Locsin‘s Lobo went head to head with Marian Rivera‘s Dyesebel and according to the comparative tv ratings from AGB Nielsen, the GMA fantaserye registered a figure that even if you double the rating of its rival “Lobo”, it will remain victorious. But of course, the scope of these figures are in Mega Manila only. We shall see how will it fare in the nationwide (NUTAM) ratings come June.
In the meantime, kapamilya game shows lorded over GMA game shows. Pilipinas Game KNB? outclassed Ogie Alcasid’s Da Big Show the whole week. Same with Kris Aquino‘s Wheel of Fortune which is always on top beating Arnel Ignacio‘s Gobingo.

It’s now official! After conquering the nationwide ratings last February and March for her first teleserye Marimar, Marian Rivera dominated the tv ratings again for her second tv series “Dyesebel“. After debuting at no. 1 last Monday, the GMA fantaserye maintained it’s no. 1 position from Tuesday to Thursday with more than 50% edge against its rival show Lobo and established a comfortable lead against second placer Joaquin Bordado. If they will play their cards right, Dyesebel could remain unbeaten during its run and even surpass the record of Marimar.

Dyesebel Debuts at No. 1 with 44.9%

The pilot episode of Dyesebel was able to surpass the pilot episode of Marimar with an impressive 44.9 percent. The pilot episode of Marimar, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera‘s first tv series, registered 36.6% last August 13, 2007.
However, Dyesebel was not able to beat Darna‘s pilot record of 47.1 percent registered last April 11, 2005. Darna still holds the record of the highest rating for a pilot episode, followed by ABS-CBN’s Pangako Sa ‘Yo with 46.5 percent.
ABS-CBN’s “Maligno” starring Claudine Barretto, Rafael Rosell and Diether Ocampo debuted at no. 10 last night with 17.5 percent. The suspense-series was put on a later timeslot because of some violent scenes.
