DZMM is holding its third annual “Takbo Para sa Karunungan,” a fun run that will benefit 75 young scholars on March 23 (Saturday), 4 am at the Quirino Grandstand.
This year’s event will raise funds to continue the scholarship of 25 students from the Sendong-hit Cagayan de Oro and will support the study of 50 students from Metro Manila that was recently devastated by typhoon Ondoy and the Habagat.
Kapamilya TV host Kim Atienza will lead the runners on the event. Joining him are Gerry Baja, Karen Davila, Winnie Cordero, and other DZMM anchors.
Before the launch of “Takbo Para sa Karunungan” in 2011, DZMM started organizing the annual “Takbo Para sa Kalikasan” in 1999. It was in support of several campaigns for the environment such as the continued rehabilitation of the La Mesa watershed and the Pasig Rehabilitation Project through ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Bantay Kalikasan.”
Runners may choose to join in the 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km race categories. Standard registration rates are P450, P550, and P600 respectively, while the student rate is P300.
Cash prizes will be given to the individual top winners and participating largest government organizations, non-government organizations, and school contingents.
To register, visit www.dzmm.com.ph or call the secretariat at 4152272 local 5674 and 5641.
