Carla and Geoff Do Comedy in SRO Cinemaserye’s ‘Carinderia Queen’

Starting tonight, televiewers will see Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann’s lighter side in SRO Cinemaserye: Carinderia Queen.

He is a big-headed metrosexual who is too slick and vain. She is a sassy, unrefined yet charmingly sweet lady. Will the “opposites attract” factor spell magic between these two totally different individuals?

Bittersweet romance blooms in the latest romantic-comedy offering of GMA’s late night drama event every Thursday night – SRO Cinemaserye. Join the loveteam of Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana in this surprisingly fun, witty story that proves just how crazy love can be in “CARINDERIA QUEEN.”

This four-part episode is a perfect avenue for Geoff and Carla to unleash their comedic side bringing a delightful mix of humor, charm and romance to their roles. Making this episode extra special is the participation of their real life parents, Gina Alajar and Rey “PJ” Abellana.

Carla plays the role of Juliet, the ultimate “Carinderia Queen” in their neighborhood. Guys swoon over her good looks and everyone agrees that she will be a runaway winner if she decides to join beauty pageants.

Juliet and her mom Aling Biday (Melanie Marquez) stay in a rented apartment owned by Aling Waray (Gina Alajar) whose son Romeo (Geoff) is Juliet’s childhood sweetheart. As their friendship develops, Juliet’s heart is reserved only for Romeo from the moment they met.

But Romeo has to leave for the States to study and be with his American father. Aling Waray agrees on one condition that once he graduates, he will return to the Philippines to live with her permanently.

Despite terribly missing Romeo, life went on the same for Juliet after he left. Aling Waray and Aling Biday became closer and agree that their children are a perfect match for each other.

Romeo graduated and Juliet is super excited to finally see and spend time with her sweetheart once again. But on the day of their reunion, things didn’t quite turn out perfectly for the two. Both are turned off to see each other because of their personal differences.

Juliet acts like a total klutz, and speaks coarsely while Romeo sports a sophisticated look with slang expressions. He thinks she is a geek while she hates his attitude. Their reunion becomes a complete disaster.

Can the ultimate “Carinderia Queen” find true love for herself? What if their love is threatened by the nasty meddling of their mothers? Can an unlikely romance blossom between two totally different individuals? Will Romeo and Juliet’s love affair have a happy ending?

SRO Cinemaserye’s new season is led by Director Mac Alejandre together with a pool of seasoned scriptwriters headed by Jun Lana. Rounding up the cast are Gina Alajar as Aling Waray, Rey “PJ” Abellana as Dodong, Melanie Marquez as Aling Biday, Krissa Mae as Britney, and Jay Flores as Gaston.

“CARINDERIA QUEEN” will surely make viewers laugh and cry from beginning to end every Thursday night beginning November 12 right after Shining Inheritance on GMA Network.

Villa Estrella – Star Cinema’s Next Horror Movie

After the box-office success of Sukob, Feng Shui and Tenement 2, Star Cinema is coming out with another scream flick that will deliver chills to moviegoers.

Villa Estrella is another place to avoid but definitely another movie to watch out for. It’s a teen flick horror movie starring Jake Cuenca, Shaina Magdayao, Maja Salvador, Geoff Eigenmann, Liza Lorena and John Estrada. At the helm is Rico Maria Ilarde.

Villa Estrella is a mysterious resort haunted by many spirits seeking justice from people who caused their death. The movie will start with Ana (played by Shaina Magdayao), who always been afflicted with so many bad dreams or nightmares about people being killed. The twist begins when her ex-boyfriend (played by Jake Cuenca) brings her to Villa Estrella for a vacation, where she meets a girl (Maja Salvador) who is very familiar from her dreams. A lot of spirits will haunt them while staying at the resort leading them to a danger they never expected to happen.

The gate of Villa Estrella will open on July 1, 2009.

JC Tiuseco Preferred by Televiewers to be Marian Rivera’s Leading Man in Darna

Based from the poll that we conducted last May 1, 2009, Survivor Philippines winner JC Tiuseco is the most favored by the respondents to be Marian Rivera’s leading man in the return of Darna on GMA-7.

In the said poll, which lasted for only 3 days and with 1,300 respondents, 18% are in favor of the Survivor hunk. Not so far behind is Geoff Eigenmann who also received 18% of the votes. JC Tiuseco is ahead of Geoff with only 4 votes.

To date, only 2 stars are confirmed in the cast list of GMA’s Darna (2009) and they are Marian Rivera as Narda/Darna (of course) and Robert Villar as Ding. The buzz has it that the kapuso management are choosing between the two “Marks” as Marian’s new leading man: Mark Herras and Mark Anthony Fernandez. But our poll somewhat shows that the televiewers prefer JC Tiuseco and Geoff Eigenmann.

SRO Cinemaserye Presents: Ganti ng Puso on GMA

GMA is bringing back the mini-series on Philippine television via SRO Cinemaserye and their first offering is the remake of the 1994 drama “Ganti ng Puso.”

Ganti ng Puso is an eight-part weekly drama anthology that will begin on Thursday night, March 26, after Fated to Love You.

Starring in “Ganti ng Puso” is the newest kapuso Geoff Eigenmann. The mini-series is also topbilled by Maxene Magalona, Bianca King, Arci Muños, Sheryl Cruz, Marvin Agustin and Ms. Daria Ramirez.

The first Cinemaserye is directed by Dominic Zapata and written for television by Jun Lana.

Geoff Eigenmann Receives Grand Kapuso Welcome on SOP

Heartthrob Geoff Eigenmann returns to GMA and he received a very warm welcome from other kapuso stars on Sunday’s SOP.

Geoff signed a three-year exclusive contract with GMA Network with the presence of GMA Chairman, President at COO Atty. Felipe Gozon, GMA EVP and COO Gilberto Duavit, and SVP for Entertainment TV Wilma Galvante.

“I’ve been waiting for this day talaga. So, it’s good to be back finally, ready to do best, ready to prove that I belong here,” Geoff said happily.

Geoff’s first project will be the drama anthology SRO Cinema Serye and he will be joined by Marvin Agustin, Maxene Magalona and Sheryl Cruz.

Geoff Eigenmann Teams Up with Maja Salvador in ‘Moon River’

Moon River is an upcoming TV Series on ABS-CBN topbilled by the new kapamilya love team Maja Salvador and Geoff Eiganmann.

The shooting of Moon River started last year with some parts being revised with pending approval from the ABS-CBN Executives. Nevertheless, it will soon hit the kapamilya channel but it’s not yet decided if it will be a daytime soap or a primetime series.

Moon River’s first working title was “Blue River.” It will star the newly-formed love team – Maja Salvador and Geoff Eigenmann. Playing the supporting roles are Jodi Sta. Maria and Rafael Rosell.

Also in the cast of Moon River are Ella Cruz, Chin Chin Gutierrez, Tonton Gutierrez, Precious Lara Quigaman, Kim Frances Elumba and Rina Labelle Romero.
