“As much as we want to prolong the show but due to constraints in production, schedules & difficulty in daily tapings, Idol will not able to fulfill its 10-13 week term on air. Mahirap magpaalam lalo pa at naging malapit na sa mga puso natin ang Idol. As this takes place, lead stars namely Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby and Coco Martin will go through drastic changes with their characters in the said primetime series.

Billie (Sarah) having her secret revealed, will return to Manila. But she will not come back as a famous singer with Vince. Will she ever regain her singing career and fame?

On the other hand, Vince (Sam), will continue on being love sick with Billie. Hence, he will try to live independently since his family disapproves his love for Billie. Will he survive living independently? Or will eventually give up his love for Billie and live luxuriously with his family?

Meanwhile, Lando (Coco) will face the most unfortunate change among the three lead as he brace himself living behind bars. What will happen to his little brothers and sisters? Will he ever get out of the jail?

On the other hand, as a way of continuously bettering the show, the taping of ‘Idol’ has been relentless. However the actors and actresses behind ‘Idol’ are uncomplaining about this setup as they are all aiming for the success and improvement of the show.

All their efforts and sacrifices for the show are indeed paying off as they continue to earn high ratings. According to the Kantar Media nationwide survey, ‘Idol’ grossed 25.3% leaving GMA 7’s Grazilda with only 21% last Tuesday, September 28.

Last Monday night, Noah took Agua Bendita‘s no. 1 slot as the most-watched program in Kantar Media’s national TV ratings. TV Patrol World took the no. 2 slot while Idol debuted at no. 3 with a pilot rating of 30%.

In AGB’s Mega Manila People Ratings, on the other hand, Survivor Philippines Celebrity Edition returned to it’s no. 1 position followed by 24 Oras at no. 2. Noah captured the 3rd spot while Idol and Ilumina are tied at no. 4 with a rating of 13%.

A series filled with hopes and dreams, Idol revolves around the story of a girl named Billie played by Sarah Geronimo who will reach the peak of stardom as a famous singer. However, because of a whopping family debt, she will be forced to set aside her fame while hiding her true identity and living a simple life as Jean. She will also be torn between two handsome hotties, Sam Milby as Vince and Coco Martin as Lando, who will eventually fall in love with her.

After years of solely focusing on her singing career, Pop princess Sarah Geronimo ventures once again to acting as she is set to penetrate Kapamilya’s Primetime night teamed up with two of the sought after leading man, Acoustic heartthrob, Sam Milby and Prince of Indie films, Coco Martin. A dancer first shouted “Idol” which totally echoed in the mall and have caught the attention of the people who were killing time in the said shopping place. This was also the signal which gave way to the entertaining flashmob. What really shocked the audience was the revelation of the next primetime stars of ABS-CBN—Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby and Coco Martin as they uncovered their face towards the end of the song. “Idol” will start airing this September.

Sarah Geronimo’s last teleserye with ABS-CBN was the hit primetime series Pangarap na Bituin back in 2007.

Now, ABS-CBN is bringing back the Popstar and current Box-Office Queen Sarah Geronimo in a musical teleserye that’s also part of the 60th anniversary of Philippine Soap Opera.

The title of the musical dramedy is “Idol” and it will also star the Acoustic Heartthrob Sam Milby and the Prince of Indie Films Coco Martin.

Early on, the top 5 performed a Neil Diamond medley. Afterwards, Ryan Seacrest visited with former American Idol finalists Constantine Maroulis and Gina Glocksen in the studio audience. Constantine and Gina plugged their Fox Reality show “American Idol Extra.”

Ryan Seacrest addressed some of the gossip about Paula Abdul’s boo-boos from the previous episode. Seacrest said, “Just for the record, the rumors, they are not true. She’s part of our family, and we love her, so a round of applause for Paula. And I think Simon still wants to hook up with her.”

The special guest of the night was Natasha Beddingfield, who sang her single “Pocket Full Of Sunshine.” After her performance, Natasha went over and gave David Archuleta a kiss on the cheek.

For the Ford music video, the American Idol finalists performed “Catch The Wind.” For the second guest musical performance, Neil Diamond sang “Amazing Grace.”
