After giving life to the TV version of Pepeng Agimat more than a year ago, Jolo is back to reprise once again a character that his grandfather, Ramon Revilla Sr., portrayed during the 80′s. “This will be the second time that I will be giving life to a classic character originally played by my grandfather. Siyempre the pressure is there, but full support naman ang family ko sa akin. Ayoko naman sila pahiyain siyempre po,” Jolo shared.

As Jolo sets on with his new adventure as Kapitan Inggo, he will be supported by a list of veteran and highly-admired stars: Gary Estrada, Jomari Yllana, Ana Capri, Liza Lorena, Timmy Cruz, Jay-R Siaboc, Maurice Mabutas of Star Circle Quest and Rima Ostwani as Jolo’s leading lady.

Kapitan Inggo is originally a 1984 film starred by Ramon Revilla Sr. The story revolves around Kapitan Inggo and how his amulet helps him become invincible.

Dubbed as “Ikalawang Pagsabak”, the tradition of extra ordinary Pinoy urban powers will return in the small screen via ABS-CBN’s “Agimat: Ang mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla”.

This time, Agimat’s featured stars will be Ejay Falcon as “Pepeng Kuryente”, Enchong Dee as “Boy Putik”, Jason Abalos as “Bianong Bulag” and returning in this new series is Jolo Revilla as “Kapitan Inggo”.

On the first Agimat series, Jolo played the role of “Pepeng Agimat” and joining him are the triple threat hunks of the teleserye Tayong Dalawa: Gerald Anderson as “Tiagong Akyat”, Jake Cuenca as “Elias Paniki”, and Coco Martin as “Tonyong Bayawak”.

It’s interesting to note the among the previous Agimat episodes, Jolo Revilla’s “Pepeng Agimat” was the highest-rating among the four. Is this the reason why Jolo is returning in this year’s batch?

A story arced on love and family, Noah is topbilled by the country’s Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual and ABS-CBN’s miracle boy, Zaijan Jaranilla. According to one of the directors of the series, Lino Cayetano, both are very much suited for their character.

“It was perfectly woven for Piolo and Zaijan. Mararamdaman mo yung chemistry nila as father and son. And dahil may chemistry na, napadali ang trabaho ko bilang direktor dahil hindi na kailangan ipilit,” Direk Lino shared.

After the hit primetime series May Bukas Pa, Zaijan is set to play a “lost” boy who grew up with the Ungtas, a group of ape-like beings.

Paired with Piolo is one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine showbusiness, Kristine Hermosa. Piolo and Kristine’s last project together was “Komiks presents Mars Ravelo’s Nasaan Ka Maruja?” where Piolo had a special appearance. Their reunion in Maruja filled in their 10-year hiatus away from each other after “Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako”.

“When I learned that I’ll be working with PJ (Piolo) dito sa Noah, natuwa ako siyempre. Noong sa Maruja kasi special appearance lang talaga siya so hindi kami nagkasama ng matagal,” Kristine expressed.

Other cast members included in the series are: Cherry Pie Picache, Nonie Buencamino, Jolo Revilla, Ana Capri, Joem Bascon, Melissa Ricks, Renzo Cruz, Baron Geisler and Jodi Sta. Maria.

On the other hand, Noah also boasts its unique set–a warehouse customized to look as a forest and home of the Ungtas. However, some of the scenese are still taken in Subic.

Sure to take you into a euphoric viewing experience, the story of Noah zeroes in Gabriel’s (Piolo Pascual) search of his missing son, Jacob (Zaijan Jaranilla). His travails lead him into a mysterious island called Noah where he eventually sees his lost son whose name is now Eli. Along the way, Gabriel also encounters the Ungtas and Eva (Kristine Hermosa).

Jolo Revilla, saddened by the thought that his series is nearing its concluding episode, mentioned that his whole experience portraying the role of the new ‘Pepeng Agimat’ is one of his most lesson-filled and unforgettable projects ever since he started out in show business. “Ibang klase talaga ang buong experience ko as ‘Pepeng Agimat’. Sa lahat ng naging projects ko I can say na dito sa seryeng ito ako maraming natutunan,” Jolo shared. “Kinabahan ako siyempre. Kahit dad ko siya, may pressure pa rin. Kasi ginampanan niya rin dati yung role ko ngayon. Nervous ako dahil ayoko naman sila ma-disappoint sa performance ko as “Pepeng Agimat” kaya lagi kong ibinibigay ang best ko,” Jolo shared. “Pero excited at handa rin naman talaga ako noon na makasama ang dad ko sa eksena. Nakikipagsabayan rin ako sa kanya siyempre.”

Jolo also mentioned that his father was a hands-on mentor. “Magaling na mentor ang daddy ko. In fact noong magkasama kami sa set, nagpapractice kami ng lines namin ng sabay. It’s nice to feel and see kung gaano ka-supportive yung dad ko sa akin.”

According to Agimat’s production team member, it was a delight to watch the father and son on the small screen. “Nakakatuwa panoorin yung mag-ama na magkasama sa isang eksena. We rarely see them together act in one scene kasi kaya nakakatuwa silang mag-ama pagmasdan na umarte ng sabay.”

On the other hand, Pepeng Agimat scored a 34.6 rating in the national survey results provided by TNS, topping the Saturday list of shows.
