Last month, her dream to meet one of her idols–Celine Dion–came true with the help of Oprah. Charice even sang a duet number with Celine at the Diva’s concert in New York.

Now, Charice was able to hug and talk another diva and one of her idols, Mariah Carey. Charice met Carey at Wynn’s Hotel for the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation’s Grand Slam for Children benefit concert last Saturday, October 11 in Las Vegas.

Carey believed that by making “Bye Bye” more open, “everybody could kind of be healed by the song and have their own experience listening to it.

“Bye Bye” debuted at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 as the “Hot Shot Debut”, selling 60,000 downloads, following her performance of the song on American Idol and Oprah. Although it slid to positions #32 and #38 in following weeks, the song has slowly climbed into the top 20, peaking at #19. It currently sits at 22 on The Billboard Hot 100. In New Zealand, Bye Bye debuted at #30 on the RIANZ singles chart and the following week propelled to #16. It is released in the UK on 16th June. It has already charted at an impressive #44, two weeks before it is released.

It has reached #37 on the united world chart, amassing a total of 209,000 points in its three week stay on that chart.

The New York Post cited a source close to Mariah as saying the pair wed secretly in front of a few selected friends and relatives at the diva’s house in Eleuthera.

Latina.com, the Web site for Latina magazine, on the other hand cited a source near Cannon as saying the nuptials took place on Wednesday, and In Touch Weekly said Cannon had designed a $2.5 million ring he gave to his new bride.

These reports are not yet confirmed as representatives for both Carey and Cannon are still mum about the issue.

38 year-old Mariah Carey, has just released the No. 1 single “Touch My Body” off her latest album “E=MC2,” which also debuted on record charts as the best-selling album in mid-April. She has enjoyed tremendous success as a recording artist starting in 1990 with her self-titled debut album and starred on such films as “Glitter” and “Wise Girls” (regarded as two of the worst films ever). Mariah will star in an upcoming road-trip movie “Tennesse”.

27-year-old Nick Cannon, has acted on television and in films such as 2002′s “Drumline” and “Shall We Dance?” and he made his singing debut with a self-titled album in 2003 and followed up in 2006 with “Stages.”

The pair met when Cannon directed a video for her recent single, “Bye, Bye,” and have been dating for several weeks, according to reports.

Mariah was previously married to record executive Tommy Mottola, but they divorced in 1998. For Cannon, It’s his first marriage.
