Maxene took the incident lightly and shared the funny and a little embarassing experience on GMA-7′s showbiz talkshow StarTalk TX on Saturday, February 4.

In an interview by Joey de Leon Maxene admitted that among the Magalona siblings, she’s the only one who can’t “sing.”

Aware that she’s not the singer in the family, Maxene made it clear that she’s NOT planning to release a recording album soon in response to some people’s speculations that the Party Pilipinas “off-tune” performance was a publicity stunt.

“Actually natatawa ako sa buong isyu na ‘to, talagang ginawang big issue siya. Wala akong planong gumawa ng recording album, pero ayun, siyempre di ba, yung tatay ko talagang isa sa, ahm, music legends sa Philippines…”

Just before she could finish her statement, Joey asked her a follow up question: “Nabanggit mo ang tatay mo, palagay mo kung nanonood ng number mo na ‘yun si Francis, ano sa palagay mo ang sasabihin niya sa ‘yo pagkatapos?”

“Well, alam kong pagtatawanan niya ako at the same time ang sasabihin lang niya is, you know, ang nakuha ko talaga sa daddy ko is, no matter what happens, the show must go on,” she replied.

This Sharon Cuneta-Jackielou Blanco-Tonton Gutierrez-Ricky Davao movie was produced by Viva Films and directed by Eddie Garcia. Now the movie version has finally a TV remake starring Maxene Magalona, Glaiza de Castro, Patrick Garcia and JC Tiuseco. This new afternoon daytime drama series airs on June 22 replacing the highly successful soap Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin of Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal.

Here’s the synopsis of the story (based from the film version):

Clara Andrada has a heart ailment and giving birth to a baby might prove fatal for her. Rather than risking his wife’s life just to have children, Gilbert decides to adopt a baby girl named Maureen.
Clara is against the idea so when she sees her husband so caught up with little Maureen, she decides to have a child of her own.
She survived the childbirth and that same moment began a life-long war against Maureen to keep Gilbert’s affections to herself and her daughter Gladys.
