Walt Disney Pictures has released the first trailer for “The Last Song”, the latest movie adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel. The film’s screenplay was also written by Nicholas Sparks himself with Julie Anne Robinson at the helm.

The film’s storyline follows a troubled teenager, played by Cyrus, and her estranged father, played by Greg Kinnear, as they reconnect with each other through music during a summer in a quiet Southern beach town. The film also stars Kelly Preston and Liam Hemsworth and is produced by Offspring Entertainment for Touchstone Pictures, an alternative film label of The Walt Disney Company. The Last Song is Sparks’ first screenplay to be brought to film as well as Robinson’s feature film directorial debut.

The Last Song had originally been scheduled for a January 8, 2010 release, but on September 22, 2009 it was announced the release had been delayed. The film is currently scheduled for a wide release on April 2, 2010. The delay was confirmed by statements from representatives for Disney and Cyrus, one of whom said “Easter weekend/spring break” would be a “better release date than January” for the film.

16-year-old Miley took 42 percent of votes in the poll for AOL’s JSYK.com (Just So You Know) website aimed at 9-15 year-olds, putting Britney Spears and rapper Kanye West into second and third places, respectively, in a section on worst celebrity influences of the year.

Plot: Miley (Miley Cyrus) has become overwhelmed with her alter-ego’s Hannah Montana’s popularity. After getting seriously involved in a shoe fight her father, Robbie Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus) decides to take Miley and travel to her hometown, Crowley Corners, Tennessee, to reflect on the things that really matter in her life. When Miley asks if she can still be Hannah Montana, Robbie Ray says to ask him again in two weeks.

While in Cowley Corners, Miley spends time with her best friends Lilly (Emily Osment) and Oliver (Mitchel Musso). While in Cowley Corners, Lilly celebrates her sixteenth birthday. Miley decides to attend Lilly’s birthday party as her alter-ego Hannah Montana, rather than herself and performs the song “Let’s Get Crazy”, accompanied by Steve Rushton on the guitar. This goes badly since people pay more attention to Hannah than Lilly.

While on the trip, Miley has a love interest in Travis Brody (Lucas Till), a childhood friend of Miley’s. Robbie Ray has a love interest while visiting Cowley Corners, played by Melora Hardin. Also while in Cowley Corners, Miley has problems with Mr. Granger, a local citizen of Cowley Corners who knows about Miley’s secret identity and plans on exposing her.

Hannah Montana: The Movie is coming to theaters this April.

According to Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre of the Philippine Star:

“Charice will join Hannah Montana megastar Miley Cyrus and American Idol runner-up David Archuleta as headliners of this year’s Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Nov. 27. The event, presented by Macy’s, the world’s largest retail store, is one of America’s most lavish celebrations seen by over 3.5 million live spectators and over 44 million televiewers across the US. Aside from famed celebrities, the event’s notable attractions are its inflated giant balloons in the shape of well-loved cartoon or comic book characters.”

Charice, Miley and David will ride on different colorful floats and will perform separately along with other notable artists such as James Taylor, Andy Williams, The Cheetah Girls, Broadway superstars Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth, the cast of Broadway musical Hairspray, the muppets cast of Sesame Street, plus Miss USA Crystle Stewart.

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Charice will promote David Foster’s album (in which she has 2 tracks) on Good Morning America on ABC, live from the Times Square in Manhattan. According to reports, Charice’s US album is also in the works.

The three leads of the monster-hit movie franchise “Harry Potter” and Disney’s top-rating tv-musical-turned-movie all made it to the list.

The Jonas Brothers are newcomers to the list with an estimated worth of $12 Million, at number four.
