President Noynoy Aquino’s satisfaction ratings went down in the latest poll conducted by Social Weather Station (SWS).

From June 3 to 6, P-Noy’s net satisfaction rating posted a five percentage drop; from +51 (69 percent satisfied, 18 percent dissatisfied) last March, to +46 (64 percent satisfied, 18 percent dissatisfied).

The possible reason for the 5% drop can be blamed on the President’s coddling of his buddies and allies, according to Ang Galing Pinoy Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo.

“Instead of attacking and blaming the past administration for his woes, he should start acting to address the country’s pressing concerns. He should be made aware that the drop in his satisfaction ratings is due to his inactions and of his coddling of his KKK (Kaibigan, Kaklase at Kabarilan),” he said in a text message to Sun Star.

“People expect him to make good his campaign promise to deliver basic services and uplift the people’s lives. Ironically, prices of basic commodities, unemployment, and the number of people going hungry are all rising. There’s less food on the table. And yet the only thing people can relate President Aquino to is his dates with different girls and his fancy for luxury sports cars,” he added.

On the day of the inauguration of the 15th Philippine president, award-winning and pioneer investigative program, Probe will go full circle by celebrating its remarkable run, which began during the presidency of Corazon Aquino, with a special on the ascent to presidency and the inauguration of the late Aquino’s son, President-elect Benigno Aquino III today, June 30.

Join Cheche Lazaro on “Probe Profiles” tonight (June 30) as she zeroes in on Sen. Noynoy Aquino’s march to presidency beginning with the grueling 2010 election campaign to his inauguration. Get the inside story behind the issues in his candidacy and the transition to his administration straight from his campaign manager and future budget secretary Butch Abad, incoming presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, and the Aquino sisters.

Under the leadership of its main anchor and chief driving force Lazaro, Probe continuously raised the standard in news and public affairs programming by combining intensive and courageous reports with outstanding storytelling and production values.

If we are to base our vote in qualification and work experience, we can trim down the 9 choices for Presidentiables into 4. But who among these four is the most qualified?

He should also have a clear grasp of the concept that he was elected to the Office which is an institution, and he, the one elected to that office. The ideals and obligations of the Office go beyond his personal self. As the one elected by the people, he must always be guided by what’s best for his country or constituents even if this entails great personal sacrifices on his part. A true leader must accept the philosophy that he should serve without expecting anything in return. In the end, his strength of character and integrity would give him the will to resist temptation. The main thrust of our platform is emancipating the people from poverty and injustice. Self reliant and sustainable economic development program shall be pursued by implementing agrarian reform, increasing agricultural productivity and developing domestic industries. The problems of environmental destruction, climate change and recurring calamities shall be comprehensively addressed. High priority shall be given to education, health, housing and other basic social services. Economic development should be coupled with reforms ensuring social equity and respect for human rights. People empowerment and good governance are vital to implementing meaningful reforms in the economy, politics, culture and foreign relations. A foreign policy based on respect for national sovereignty and ensuring mutual benefit shall be charted. The policy of economic liberalization and blind adherence to “globalization” must be reviewed. Unequal economic, military and other foreign treaties and agreements must be corrected. (For more details refer to http://www.eleksyon.co.cc/manny-villars-platform/trackback/).

GORDON, DICK: A Country of Character – our ultimate vision where everyone is Enabled to be Enobled and Free; Vision for a New Philippines: Leadership requires a clear and coherent VISION. The vision sets the philosophy and framework for good governance. It provides guidance to the people so that they can pursue our common goal in their own creative way. Dick Gordon’s vision for a truly Filipino society must be one that is: Caring. People must be concerned with the welfare of others/community/country and exercise a degree of selflessness for our greater good. We must not injure others in the exercise of our rights; Compassionate. Everyone must have due regard for the individual struggles of others and act with consideration. We must act with empathy and devise programs that uplift every individual’s conditions. (For more details refer to http://www.eleksyon.co.cc/richard-dick-gordons-platform/trackback/)

Noynoy Aquino is said to be “mentally unstable” while Manny Villar is allegedly “protecting his personal interests.” Have the two conflicting political parties gone too far and actually resolved to using black propaganda just to get ahead of their political rivals?

With just days away from the May 2010 automated election, Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano of the Nacionalista Party and Rep. Risa Hontiveros of the Liberal party go face-to-face to address the claims of black propaganda in the special Harapan edition of “Failon Ngayon” this Saturday (May 1), 5:30 PM.

The two parties are neck-and-neck in the surveys and making the opposing party look bad may just be the key to win the elections. “Failon Ngayon” conducted a mock election using the 2.5 feet sample ballots from COMELEC and the people’s shocking reactions were captured.

On the lighter side, impersonators of Presidential candidates Manny Villar and Noynoy Aquino will also clash in the show and argue about the black propaganda they hurled against each other.

Find out if there is any truth in the dirt the two parties are flinging at each other this Saturday (May 1) in “Failon Ngayon” with Ted Failon, 5:30 PM on ABS-CBN.

Noynoy Aquino joins the ranks of her mom Corazon Aquino, Fidel V. Ramos, and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao as the elite group of Pinoys who graced the cover of the prestigious TIME magazine.

TIME Magazine’s April 26 issue, “The New Aquino: Can Noynoy Save the Philippines?” written by Ishaan Tharoor, described Aquino as an “unlikely man of the moment,” who keeps the hope of millions of Filipinos alive by continuing the Aquino family legacy.

He was quoted by TIME by saying “We are just instruments put in the right position to execute God’s will…They made automatic in me the preference to take up the cudgels for those who have less in life, for the powerless.”

Economics professor Winnie Monsod was quoted in the article as stating that Aquino “doesn’t have his father’s charisma, but he has his mother’s sincerity. Whether that’s enough, I don’t know.”

TIME had featured Noynoy’s mom Mrs. Corazon Aquino thrice on its cover. The first was in 1986 when she was named Woman of the Year, the second in 2006 when she was named among 60 Asian Heroes, and last after she died in August 2009 when she was declared “The Saint of Democracy.”

Nacionalista Party (NP) presidential candidate Sen. Manny Villar was delighted to hear about Baby James uttering his name in Noynoy’s campaign in Bacolod.

“Ikinararangal ko na kapag nakikita kong nagugustuhan ako ng mga bata. Dahil ang mga bata honest,” Villar said.

The richest senator of the country made this statement after the 2-year-old son of Kris Aquino, youngest sister of Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, shouted Villar’s name during Aquino’s campaign sortie in Bacolod on March 29 (CLICK HERE FOR RELATED ARTICLE and VIDEO).

In one campaign of Sen. Noynoy Aquino in Bacolod, Baby James uttered on the microphone “Villar!”

As reported by TV Patrol World and Showbiz News Ngayon last night, a clip featuring Baby James in the arms of her mom Kris Aquino during the campaign of Team Noynoy in Bacolod was shown. It happened onstage while Kris is convincing the people to vote for her brother Noynoy. When she gave the microphone to her son Baby James and expecting him to say “Vote Noynoy”, the 2-year-old celebrity uttered “Villar!”

The incident is now going rounds in text messages and social networking sites. Kris Aquino confirmed that it really happened.

“Yes, it’s true! He said Villar but not Vote Villar!. It’s ‘Vilyay’ to be exact. May times talaga na parang inaasar ni Baby James ang Tito Noy niya at sinasabi ang names na ‘Vilyay at ‘Erap’ Nung rally sa Bacolod, totoong kinuha ni Bimby [her moniker to Baby James] ang mic at on stage ay sinabi nitong ‘Vilyay!’ Baka dahil pagod na sa maghapong rally that time kaya nagpaka-naughty,” she said.

Baby James is currently seen in the primetime soap of her mom “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo” where he plays a minor role.

For its Christmas and Fifth Anniversary episode, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho brought together eight presidential aspirants not only to talk about the 2010 elections but also to share their favorite Noche Buena recipes!

Watch Sen. Noynoy Aquino toss a home-made Caesar’s Salad with the help of his sister Pinky. He also talks about how the Aquino family will celebrate Christmas for the first time without their mother, former President Cory Aquino.

Sen. Richard Gordon, meanwhile, proves that he’s as good in grilling witnesses during senate hearings as he is in grilling burgers, a skill he learned growing up in the kitchen of his mother’s restaurant.

Former Department of National Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro, on the other hand, exhibits his topnotch cooking skills for his Chicken Pricasso recipe. A self-confessed late bloomer, Gibo honed his culinary skills while living alone to study in Harvard.

Fiery Sen. Jamby Madrigal shows off her Bicolano roots with her vegetarian version of Laing and Baked Mangoes.

With hard work and perseverance as his secret ingredients, Sen. Manny Villar gets his hands dirty in making Embutido, a Noche Buena recipe he learned from his mother.

For the youngest Presidential candidate, Olongapo City Councilor JC delos Reyes, politics not only runs in his blood but cooking as well. The youthful candidate whips up Roasted Porkloin with Parmessan Crust with Tomato Basil Pasta, a Brazilian-Italian recipe from his wife.

Bro. Eddie Villanueva’s favorite dish, Baked Stuffed Bangus, meanwhile, harks back to the time when he grew up tending his parents’ bangus fishpens in Bocaue and Quezon. And just like how the bangus struggles to swim upstream, Bro. Eddie is determined to go against the traditional flow of politics with his campaign for the presidency.

And true to form, Environmentalist Nicky Perlas makes a Mixed Greens Salad and Pesto Rice, revealing how going organic is vital in protecting our environment.

Find out more mouth-watering stories in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’s fifth anniversary special this Saturday night, December 19.

Last year, we gave you the 8 Hottest Stars of 2008. Now, Starmometer presents the “9 Surprise Hits of 2009.”

Actually we have a shortlist of 14 celebrities/shows that were surprise hits in the local entertainment industry this year but we picked those who impacted the world of showbiz (and politics) the most and trimmed them down to 9.

In no particular order, here’s our 9 SURPRISE HITS OF 2009:

ZAIJAN JARANILLA – This new child actor surprised everyone after his teleserye May Bukas Pa became the no. 1 tv program of 2009. Zaijan has a lot of promise that’s why he keeps on receiving awards left and right. Salamat kay Bro of course who gave him the talent and use it for God’s glory!

EUGENE DOMINGO – The ever-talented comedienne Eugene “Uge” Domingo was launched this year on her first starring role in a comedy film under newbie producers which include the ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual. Her film, Kimmy Dora, was a box-office hit giving Eugene the tag as “the next comedy queen.”

MARICAR REYES – This model-turned-actress became a household name after the Hayden Kho sex video scandal exploded earlier this year. The setback did not hinder Maricar and it even became a stepping stone for her career as she has now appeared on various teleserye on ABS-CBN. Her performances in Maalaala Mo Kaya, Lovers in Paris, Your Song and Precious Hearts Romances made the critics noticed her acting prowess.

TALENTADONG PINOY – Who would have thought that this talent competition on TV5 trumped its rivals from the two giant networks? It even started the “talent” show craze making both GMA and ABS-CBN come up with their own similar programs. Until now, Talentadong Pinoy is topping the Mega Manila TV ratings and their claim as the no. 1 talent show ng bayan is unquestionable. Kudos to its award-winning host Ryan Agoncillo!

VALERIE CONCEPCION – Who would have thought that one of the most irritating hosts on television could win the PMPC Best Female TV Host for two years in a row! Siguro kanya kanyang taste lang yan. Pardon my term but i find her hosting unpleasant to the ears and i kinda prefer Toni Gonzaga or Pia Guanio to win this award but hey, the judges saw something in her so there’s nothing we can do but to congratulate her. I think it’s her “mass appeal” that worked for her.

NOYNOY AQUINO – From out of nowhere, Noynoy is now the front-runner among the presidentiables come 2010 elections. Thanks to his ever-vigilant sister, Kris Aquino, who manages his candidacy to be the next President of the Republic. But of course, we should not forget that Noynoy’s biggest asset why the public loves him is his squeaky clean image as he hasn’t been linked to any graft and corruption rumors whatsoever.

CARLA ABELLANA – One of the biggest surprise of the year is this daughter of veteran actor Rey PJ Abellana. Catapulted to fame by landing the lead role in GMA’s Rosalinda, Carla has also landed several endorsement deals and she’s only starting in showbiz!

ERICH GONZALES – Erich was launched in her very first teleserye “Katorse.” The premiere of the series was delayed in months that’s why some of the cast became skeptical if the show will run or get shelved. Surprisingly, ABS-CBN put the show on primetime rather than daytime block and it’s a hit nationwide! This notable achievement makes Erich in the running for the kapamilya network’s drama princess!

CRISTINE REYES – Everyone was expecting Angel Locsin to top FHM’s Sexiest Women in the World for 2009 because the “Lobo” star has the biggest and most active fanbase that could dominate the poll. In the end, Angel ended up in third place, Marian Rivera in second and Cristine Reyes as the Sexiest Woman of 2009. We have no complaints as Cristine is very very sexy indeed!
