Check out which shows topped the daytime and primetime race in Mega Manila and NUTAM tv ratings for the year 2008.

The rankings were based as per single broadcast of the programs mentioned, either a special or a series, and not in average in the case of tv series.

Pacquiao-dela Hoya Bout, MMK Top Weekend NUTAM Ratings for December 2008

The much awaited Dream Match of Oscar dela Hoya and Manny Pacquiao registered a whopping 46% to top weekend NUTAM in the daytime category.

In Metro Manila, the Dream Match as aired on GMA 7, garnered 45.6% which can be considered mediocre among previous Pacman’s bouts. But in the NUTAM race, the 46 percent that it received can be considered as remarkable. Take note that 2nd placer, Wowowee, only got 20.9% which is more than a half lower.

In the weekend primetime race, Maalaala Mo Kaya received the most viewership last December 2008 beating erstwhile leader Rated K. The ABS-CBN drama anthology received 29.3% while 2nd placer Rated K got 27 percent. Two more kapamilya shows captured the 3rd and 4th spot – The Singing Bee and Komiks Presents respectively. GMA’s Bitoy’s Funniest Videos settled for the fifth slot.

Dyosa Tops Primetime NUTAM for December 2008

Last November 2008, the ABS-CBN teleserye “Iisa Pa Lamang” ended its run topping the weekday primetime NUTAM race. The month after, the fantaserye “Dyosa” took over the top spot with a total rating of 30.3 percent nationwide.

This is the first time the said ABS-CBN fantaserye reached the top of the nationwide primetime race with former leaders Dyesebel, The Singing Bee and Iisa Pa Lamang exited the competition. The Anne Curtis-starrer ended it’s run last Friday and it is expected to top the primetime race again when AGB Nielsen Philippines release the results of January 2009 NUTAM. Or maybe another surprise upset from the rival station GMA?

In the weekday daytime race, Wowowee was able to maintain its lead as expected. The ABS-CBN noontime show received a total rating of 20.6% in the weekday daytime NUTAM and 20.9% in the weekend daytime NUTAM. Following closely is the GMA Sine Novela “Una Kang Naging Akin” with 20.5%. The Angelika dela Cruz, Maxene Magalona and Wendell Ramos starrer almost clinched the no. 1 spot but fell short of only 0.1% from Wowowee’s 20.6%.

Heart Evangelista’s “Luna Mystika“, GMA’s latest fantaserye, captured the fourth spot nationwide behind I Love Betty La Fea. Gagambino settled for 6th place while Codename: Asero, which also ended last November were at no. 7.

Kapamilya Deal or No Deal is still the country’s favorite game show as it placed no. 8 in the primetime race. ABS-CBN’s daytime game show Pilipinas Game KNB? is at no.6 in the daytime race.

Wowowee remain the no.1 daytime program nationwide with 21.9% but following closely is the GMA soap Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan with 21.6% The distance between the two programs is merely 0.3%. Daytime third placer is another GMA soap, Una Kang Naging Akin.

In the weekend daytime race, the ABS-CBN sports special The Hit Man Vs. The Magic Man: Hatton Vs. Malignaggi captured the top spot with 28.3%. And for the first time, ABS-CBN’s longest running drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya topped the weekend primetime race.

Dyesebel Reclaims NUTAM Leadership for the month of October

Dyesebel ended its run last October 2008 by being the no. 1 tv series nationwide.

After getting beaten by the Singing Bee last September, Dyesebel grabbed the lead again last October with 33.6% and topped the NUTAM race for Weekday primetime programs. On the daytime race, Wowowee still the no. 1 spot nationwide despite strong showings of GMA afternoon soap operas.

Another TV special ruled the weekend primetime race, this time it’s the grand dream night of Pinoy Dream Academy Little Dreamers. In the weekend daytime race, it’s still Wowowee on top.

The Singing Bee and Wowowee Top NUTAM for September

ABS-CBN’s Karaoke game show “The Singing Bee” ended its first season as the number one tv program in the country.

Ruling the weekday primetime block for the third time in a row, The Singing Bee registered an average of 35.2% for the month of September beating Mega Manila’s no. 1 “Dyesebel” by just 0.3%.

Wowowee remain udisputed in the weekday daytime race nationwide as it registered 23% for the month of September. Placing second is the Mexican telenovela “El Cuerpo.”

For the weekend bouts, The Challenge: Casamayor Vs. Marquez (ABS-CBN) garnered 23.4% to top the weekend daytime race. Pinoy Dream Academy’s Grand Finale registered an impressive 40.4 percent to top the weekend primetime race.

ABS-CBN Dominates NUTAM Ratings for August 2008

The NUTAM ratings for August 2008 are out and all four categories are dominated by ABS-CBN programs. The Singing Bee, Wowowee and Pinoy Dream Academy are the no. 1 shows last month according to AGB Nielsen Philippines.

It looks like the petition to bring back the Singing Bee on air just became stronger as the karaoke game show hosted by Cesar Montano was able to beat Dyesebel for the second month-in-a-row in the nationwide ratings. Dyesebel lost again to The Singing Bee with a difference of just 0.1%, the Bee received 33.2% while the fish got 33.1% for the month of August. Anne Curtis’ Dyosa was third placer.

In the weekend ratings, Pinoy Dream Academy managed to grab the top spot in the primetime race. PDA was also the leader in Mega Manila primetime weekend ratings so its no surprise that the talent competition was able to dominate NUTAM as well.

Lobo and The Singing Bee Dominate Primetime NUTAM in July

GMA’s Dyesebel was beaten by ABS-CBN’s Lobo and The Singing Bee in the highly contested no. 1 spot in the nationwide ratings or NUTAM for the month of July.

Lobo and the Singing Bee garnered an identical ratings of 33.4 in the primetime block nationwide according to AGB Nielsen. Erstwhile leader, Dyesebel, settled for 2nd place with 33.2%.

In the primetime weekend race, on the other hand, Pinoy Dream Academy captured the no. 1 and no. 2 position courtesy of its live gala night on Saturdays and Little Dreamers on Sundays respectively.

The weekend daytime and primetime leaders in the nationwide TV ratings for June 2008 both surpassed the 40 percent bracket. In Weekend Daytime NUTAM, GMA’s “Lethal Combination: Pacquiao VS Diaz” registered a remarkable 46% dislodging Wowowee in the top position. In Weekend Primetime NUTAM on the other hand, The Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus registered an astounding 42.2% while another PBB Special, “The Big Reunion“, placed second with 32.7 percent.
