Bubble Gang is undoubtedly the country’s most successful and most popular gag show. From a list of perfectly executed gags and commercial spoofs to the funny sketches and the recurring characters that keep us all in stitches, it is not surprising how it has remained number one even after 14 years of existence.

In celebrating its ivory year, Bubble Gang has prepared a special primer highlighting the show’s unique brand of comedy, as well as three equally hilarious flicks, which will air on October 23 and 30, respectively.

Entitled “14 Going Steady”, the primer will feature not only exclusive behind the scenes of the three flicks, but it will also look back on the past 14 years of BG – from its inception in 1995, its evolution as the country’s leading gag show, the various trends and craze it has created, and its impact on Philippine pop culture.

If that’s not enough, it will also uncover never-before-heard trivia about some of BG’s well-loved segments, and interviews with celebrities, TV viewers, and former “bubblers” recalling their cherished memories of the show.

Lastly, “14 Going Steady” host Paolo Bediones will get to know the Bubble Barkada – Ogie Alcasid, Michael V., Wendell Ramos, Antonio Aquitania, Rufa Mae Quinto, Francine Prieto and Maureen Larrazabal – through a sit-down interview that will unleash not only their funny side, but more interestingly, their kinky side as well.

Then on October 30, three films outfitted for television, which was created by Bubble Gang’s very own creative team and pioneering cast member Michael V., will cap off this two-part anniversary special. One is a horror film, the other is a spoof of a famous Koreanovela, and the last is a scintillating sexy comedy. The films will star the Bubble Gang cast along with celebrity guests Dennis Trillo, Iza Calzado, Julia Clarete, and Ms. Regine Velasquez.

Flick through Bubble Gang’s rich history and celebrate 14 years of superb comedy. Catch “14 Going Steady” on October 23 and the actual airing of the three movies on October 30 on GMA Network.

If the reports are accurate, Yaya and Angelina is a stronger hit than Spring Films’ Kimmy Dora which only earned P30 million on its first week. And if Ondoy did not visited the country last Saturday, then Yaya and Angelina could have raked in more than P34 million considering Saturday and Sunday are the biggest days in the week for movies.

APT Entertainment is now celebrating because they found a winner in the characters created by the Bubble Gang tandem Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid. And it’s a back-to-back victory because their other film, “Ded Na Si Lolo”, was chosen as the Philippine entry to the 2010 Oscars last week.

With these feat and producing critically-acclaimed and award-winning indie films like “Kamoteng Kahoy”, “Bente”, “Fuschia” and the animated film “Urduja”, APT Entertainment could be the next major player in Philippine Cinema.

Such a winner.

Cast and characters:

Ogie Alcasid – Angelina, the spoiled brat. Only child of a rich couple. Pilya, playful at laging nakukuha ang gusto. Laging pinaglalaruan at pinagdidiskitahan ang mga yaya kaya walang nagtatagal.

Michael V.— Cha Cha Lucero, the doting yaya. Laking probinsiya kaya may may thick Visayan accent. Matalino at madiskarte para sa isang yaya. May kakirihan din sa mga lalake. Loves and understands Angelina dahil para sa kanya, walang batang maitim ang budhi. Siya lang ang yaya na nagtagal kay Angelina.

Iza Calzado — the terrorist leader. Madanda, kalmado, poised and composed pero mapanganib pag nagagalit kaya kinatatakutan ng mga tauhan. May mga kakaibang skills at paraan to calm herself down pero bakas ang kulo at sama sa pagkatao.

Aiko Melendez – the mother of Angelina. Young houseife, istrikta at binibigay ang lahat sa anak. Mabuting magulang pero sadyang may kapilyahan ang anak.

Jomari Yllana – the father of Angelina. He is a rich and successful businessman, making him a good provider. Mabuting ama pero busy sa trabaho.

Leo Martinez – the school principal. Ma-epal at mahilig magpakitang tao kaya tinatawag na “prince-epal.” Mahigpit at wary sa mga kalokohan/kamalditahan ni Angelina kaya mainit ang mga mata rito.

Roxanne Guinoo – the teacher. Maganda, mabait, maunawain at magaling magturo. Dedicated sa trabaho at laging inuuna ang kapakanan ng mga estudyante.

Sheena Halili – the housemaid. Inggitera at intrigera. Inis kay Yaya dahil itinuturing na threat at kaagaw. May lihim na gusto sa driver.

Victor Aliwalas – the driver. Gwapo at maganda ang katawan. Pinag-aagawan nina yaya at maid.

The Philippine edition of Celebrity Duets is a interactive reality-based singing competition airing on GMA Network jointly hosted by singer-comedian Ogie Alcasid and singer-actress, Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez. The show is produced by Fremantle Media and Simon Cowell through Syco Television which also produced the original version in the United States.

Season 3 of Celebrity Duets Philippines begins on August 29, 2009.

Oh My Girl (OMG) is a story of two childhood best friends who are separated by fate, only to be reunited years later. It is directed by Dante Nico Garcia (Ploning) under Regal Films.

Synopsis: At the local orphanage in the sleepy town of Taal, Batangas, lived two children Opao (Judy Ann Santos) and Biboy (Ogie Alcasid) who have been each other’s soul mate and best friend for as long as they can remember. Promising to stay together forever, Biboy even makes a song that would be their way of finding each other if ever they got separated. But the real world interferes and breaks their promise. And the two orphans are torn apart.

Opao is adopted by an ambitious spinster cum former starlet, Madam Annie, whose only wish was to have a daughter who could live her failed dreams of stardom. And so she molded Opao until the fat kid with a mole on her face is transformed into DARLING the hottest superstar of today’s generation.

Biboy on the other hand was also adopted by a star – a drag queen star famous in Sampaloc Metro Manila, Crisp Pop, who is touched by the boy’s story of losing his best friend. She took Biboy in her own home and gave him a simple, decent albeit unusually colorful life as her assistant in a costume and dress shop. This show is the US adaptation of the Japanese game show Brain Wall in which players must contort themselves to fit through cutouts in a large 13 feet (4.0 m) by 7.5 feet (2.3 m) Styrofoam wall moving towards them on a 50 feet (15 m) track. FremantleMedia North America produces the series as aired on Fox, with Brooke Burns and Mark Thompson serving as the hosts.

The Philippine version is set to premiere on April 20, 2009 with Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid in their funny character “Yaya and Angelina” as hosts.

Judy Ann reunites with the award-winning director of “Ploning” Dante Nico Garcia for this movie. Also starring are Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal.

Judy Ann Santos stars as the famous actress named Darling while Ogie Alcasid plays Darling’s personal assistant. The film is about friendship and love in the entertainment industry. Many of Santos’ and Alcasid’s friends in showbusiness are expected to appear in cameo roles.

Ogie revealed that he is the one who picked Judy Ann as his leading lady for the movie.

“Ako ang tumawag kay Juday. Di ba, friends naman kami niyan?” said Ogie. “Nagluluto siya nang sumagot sa tawag ko. Sabi ko, ‘Friend, may movie akong gagawin. Ikaw sana ang gusto kong katambal.’ Sabi niya ikuwento ko raw ang story. Ikinuwento ko, sabi niya kailan daw gagawin. ‘Ngayon na,’ ang sagot ko sa kanya. ‘Maganda, sige, go!’ Iyon na, nag-pictorial na kami at si Direk Dante Nico Garcia nga ang napili naming magdirek, his first commercial movie after ‘Ploning.’”

Ramiele’s guesting stint on SOP is part of her promotion for her upcoming concert with Ogie Alcasid dubbed as “The Idol Experience: Ogie Sings with the Idols,” a two-night concert that will also feature Pinoy Idol winner Gretchen Espina and the 11 Pinoy Idol finalists.

The Idol Experience is happening on December 20 and 21(Saturday and Sunday), 8 PM at the Aliw Theater.

This Sunday, October 26, Ogie and Iza star in a heartwarming episode of Dear Heart entitled “Debbie and DJ Carlo.”

DJ Carlo (Ogie) and Debbie (Iza) are neighbors. He secretly yearns for Debbie but she always gives him a cold treatment. After a bad breakup with her boyfriend, Debbie feels lost and disoriented. To cope with her depression, she listens to the radio where DJ Carlo works.

After endless conversations, they fall in love but DJ Carlo fears Debbie’s rejection since he knows Debbie won’t like him physically. He dreads the day when they will meet face to face so he asks his friend, Jim, to pretend as DJ Carlo to win Debbie’s heart.

Before long, their secret will be revealed and DJ Carlo will have to face the reality of telling Debbie his true identity and feelings. Will Debbie accept the real “DJ Carlo?” Can Debbie love DJ Carlo unconditionally?
