Melai, Paul Jake, Jason, Johan and Tibo are now out in the real world and ready to conquer showbiz.

It was in October 4 when Pinoy Big Brother Double Up was launched via The Spooky Reveal where 14 housemates were introduced, including the double up twins JM and JP, Toffi and Kenny. In October 11, Big Brother introduced the second batch of housemates who would reside in his house with his secret weekly task given to Rob and Rica, Kath, Jimson and Patrick.

Things moved up to a different level of excitement inside Big Brother’s house this season because of a lot of twists like the double up house, double up housemates, pinoy big battle, big swap in Finland, big jump to the big night, resbak attack and many more.
After almost 19 weeks with more than 20 housemates who got evicted from the PBB house, the name of the latest Big Winner was finally revealed among the Big Five which is composed of Jason, Melai, Paul Jake, Tibo and Johan.

Melisa, “Ang Inday Kengkay ng Gensan”
Big Winner

In Gensan, he is called as “Inday Waknat” which means “Inday Pangit”. Melai is jolly, simple and unpretentious. Whenever she goes with friends on a night out, she does not want to borrow their clothes. She wants to be recognized by people for who she really is.

Inside the PBB house, she gave color and meaning to it whenever it becomes dull. She made everybody have a good laugh with her jokes and punch lines.

She has impressed a lot of people because of her genuineness and positive disposition in times of difficulty. People fell in love with her and Jason’s love story that gained a large number of followers and supporters.

Paul Jake “Ang Negosyo Prince ng Cebu”
Second Big Placer

Paul Jake grew up with almost everything in his luxurious and comfortable life. But the “Negosyo Prince ng Cebu” was raised simple and wise. He once tried to act as one of their business’ laborer to further understand what it feels like working and relating with their workers.

He joined PBB to test himself with all the tasks and challenges given by Big Brother. He wants to establish his own business and own house that will come from his effort and hard work.

Inside Big Brother’s house, he started as a meek and silent housemate. But eventually, his housemates became aware of his existence especially that he showed that he is good at planning and developing strategies in their weekly task.

Paul Jake proved himself inside the Big Brother House. He was known as the leader with good strategies and tactics. He showed how strong his fighting spirit is when he did not lose hope during Resbak Attack.

Jason “Ang Boy Astig ng Mindoro”
3rd Big Placer

Jason grew up in Mindoro. He is known in his place because of his group’s reputation. He does not easily admit what he really feels, even to his own family but they have been his inspiration when he started joining Pinoy Big Brother.

It was never easy for him to mingle with other housemates inside the Big Brother House and people find it difficult to understand him too. But things changed when he gets closer to Melai.

As days passed by, we noticed that the once bad boy also has his sensitive side and is also a good friend, a selfless housemate, and a romantic lover.

Johan, Ang “Cutie Server ng QC”
Fourth Big Placer

As a kid, Johan was already exposed to a difficult life. Johan and his family live with their relatives since they do not have a house of their own. He wants to buy his own house so as to get a more private and good life for his family.

Johan started working young. His recent job was at TGIF where he works as a waiter.

We called him wallflower because it took a long time for him to open up with his fellow housemates until he finally got the chance to show his determination.

Inside the Big Brother House, Johan faced the issues of his past and made his dreams come true for his family. He did not fear to let the people know what he feels and he stands up for it.

Tibo, the “Dad of Steel ng CDO”
Fifth Big Placer

Tibo came from a brood of five, all products of one mom and five dads. One of her mother’s partners became the reason of a big commotion in their lives that forced him to leave his hometown. Due to lack of money and properties, Tibo had no choice but to accept almost all kinds of jobs which includes being a surveillance agent.

He entered the PBB house to give his wife and kids the life he dreams for them.

Inside the PBB house, Tibo served as the father to his fellow housemates. He always makes it a point to give pieces of advice to younger housemates and would even scold them if necessary. His physical strength is his weapon so if a task requires bodily strength, he gives all the power he has to win.

Melai received a total of 1,226,695 text votes or 32.08 percent. She won a check worth 1 million pesos, another 1 million pesos for her chosen charity, a P2.5 million-worth of house and lot, a 40-inch LCD TV, a travel package with a companion in three key Asian destinations and a water refilling station franchise.

The 2nd Big Placer is Paul Jake Castillo who got 1,044,295 votes or 27.31 percent. The 3rd Big Placer is Jason Francisco who received 954,961 votes or 24.97 percent. The 4th Big Placer is Johan Santos who garnered 303,751 votes or 7.94 percent. The 5th Big Placer is Tibo Jumalon and he got 294,161 votes or 7.69 percent.

Before the announcement of the winners, it was also revealed that the third season of PBB Teen Edition called “Clash of 2010″ will start this summer.

Tuesday night is the BIG REVEAL night on Pinoy Big Brother Double UP. It was the night that Big Brother revealed to the housemates that all of them will advance to the Big Night. But the shocking revelation is that the current standing of the official PBB text poll was revealed 4 nights before the Big Night.

Contrary to expectations, Melisa is NOT leading in the text votes. In fact, she’s running third from leader Paul Jake and second placer, Jason. Paul Jake garnered 31.66 percent of the total text votes. Jason got 23.21% while Melai received 20.93 percent. Running 4th is Johan with 13.39% while trailing in last place is Tibo with 10.82 percent.

Housemates Melai, Jason, Tibo, Paul Jake and Johan will compete for the title of Big Winner on Saturday (Feb 13) after saying goodbye to Mariel, this season’s final evictee, last Saturday (Feb 6).

On their last week inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, the Big Five will undergo a series of Big Events that will help viewers determine the rightful Big Winner of this season. Last Sunday’s (Feb 7) “The Big Debate,” gave a hint of what to expect this week.

During the debate, moderator Korina Sanchez threw hard questions to the housemates like “Who has not been true to himself inside the house” and “who does not need to win in PBB.”

All five bravely answered these questions even if it meant possibly hurting other housemates’ feelings.

On Monday (Feb 8), we also saw THE BIG DIVIDE, wherein the housemates were separated again in two houses. Tuesday’s (Feb 9) THE BIG REVEAL, meanwhile, will feature the shocking revelation of Big Brother to the housemates that all of them will advance to the Big Night.

On Wednesday (Feb 10), the loved ones of the housemates will enter the house for THE BIG KAPAMILYA CHALLENGE. Here, each housemate will compete for a prize alongside their loved one.

Fans of the program should not miss THE BIG HIGH FIVE CONCERT on Thursday (Feb 11), where the Big Five will perform hits and requests from loyal PBB viewers. Finally on Friday (Feb 12), the housemates will have to face the biggest issues in their lives in and out of the house with Boy Abunda.

…but Toni Gonzaga announced the name of “Tibo” as the last member of the Big 5.

Mariel received the lowest percentage of 3.34 among the 6 housemates. The highest got 28.64%. The no. of votes received by Mariel, Jason, Paul Jake, Johan and Tibo were not revealed because text voting was continued after Mariel’s eviction. Their votes will be carried-over for the poll for the Big 5 which will be concluded on the Big Night next Saturday.

Early this week, we saw Paul Jake and Jason do sacrifices to pave the way for the resolution of Mariel and Melisa’s relationship issues.

Though they originally came from rival houses, Mariel and Paul Jake became two of the closest friends inside the house. As a sacrifice, Paul Jake dressed and acted like Mariel the whole day to enable Mariel to speak with Paul Jeffrey, the father of her baby. Paul Jake’s sacrifice made him burst into tears due to pure exhaustion.

Mariel met Paul Jeffrey in House B, where she expressed her sentiments about the lies in their relationship. The man asked for her apology and asked for a chance to make the relationship work.

In the confession Room, Mariel admitted that if she was only to consider her own emotions, she would break up with her partner. However, she doesn’t want her kid to grow up in a broken family.

Jason, on the other hand, went to visit Big Brother to express his desire to formally court Melai. However, he is bothered by Melisa’s current feelings for her ex-boyfriend Roy. As a solution, Jason accepted the challenge to perform a sacrifice for Melai that would enable her to have a closure with her ex-boyfriend.

The sacrifice would require Jason to walk continuously for 17 hours, which is equivalent to 1,503 minutes representing the 1,503 km distance from Big Brother House to General Santos. Will this finally bring the happy ending to Jason and Melisa’s love story inside the PBB house?

After the votes to evict and votes to save were tallied, the 24-year-old “La Señora ng España” garnered -0.38% while the other four nominees all got positive scores. She became the 12th evictee during the Live eviction night of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up on Saturday. She was escorted by her husband, Jimson, who got eliminated on the earlier part of the season.

The percentage of votes are as follows:

Melai – +20.81%
Jason – +18.59%
Jake – +17.90%
Johan – +7.39%
Kath – -0.38%

As expected, Melai and Jason received the highest percentage of votes. Could this be a trend that they will end up the 1st and 2nd Big Placer, respectively?

Aside from Kath, “Kuya’s Darling” namely Rica, Princess and Yuri also left the house earlier in the show. They were cited for a job well done in testing the characters of the remaining housemates.

The eight former housemates used different ways to make Hermes, Johan, Kath, Tibo, Paul Jake, Jason, Mariel, and Melisa show their true character. Ex-housemates like Patrick, Yuri, and Delio confused the housemates who were busy with their weekly task of building and guarding a domino tower. The present housemates didn’t know for certain if their old friends had good intentions for coming back.

Meanwhile, Princess drew the housemates’ emotions by confronting them with not so nice perceptions on them by other housemates and the public.

Through “Resbak Attack,” the ex-housemates weren’t trying to point out who is right or wrong, or set a standard on how to react to things properly. Their goal was to see how the housemates would react in a given situation.

After interacting with the housemates in House A, the Resbak Team reconvened at House B to discuss how the housemates reacted. Praises went to Paul Jake and Mariel who were upfront about what they truly believed in, regardless of what others might think.

Likewise, the ex-housemates also commended Jason and Melai who stood up against their housemates because they believed friendship was more important than the weekly task.

Model Sam Pinto is now an official “Pinoy Big Brother Double Up” ex-housemate after receiving the lowest percentage of votes in last Saturday’s (Jan 9) Live Eviction Night. One of nominated housemates Mariel, Hermes, Cathy, Tibo, and Melisa will follow her this Saturday (Jan 16). How will the housemates react especially now that they were made to believe that they and not the viewers will choose who to evict on Saturday (Jan 16)? What they don’t know is that this is just another test to see how they will deal with each other. After Big Utol explained his strictness to eldest housemate Tibo, the Dad of Steel of Cagayan De Oro then informed his housemates that Big Utol blames the housemates’ mischief for Big Brother’s condition.

Tibo then singled out the loud and naughty tandem of Melisa and Jason. He said the two should be more responsible and should know how to listen. After this, “Melason” went outside and expressed their longing for close friends Rica and Carol, who they said were the truest among the housemates.

Meanwhile, even Melisa and Jason got into a little quarrel this week. Melisa was teasing Jason about his diapers when Jason kicked a rubber ball, which accidentally hit Melai’s face.

Melisa cried and walked out but soon the two were acting like nothing happened.

Paul Jake and Jason were punished for peeing on the garden walls of PBB. For this, Paul Jake and Jason were ordered by Big Utol to wear adult diapers and to drink a 5-gallon mineral water each. Even in previous editions of “Pinoy Big Brother,” Kuya never let violations like this pass.
