Similar to Kristine is her character in the newest mini-series offering of Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) of ABS-CBN that will be premiering this Monday afternoon (March 15), where she will be paired for the first time with her real-life sweetheart Oyo Sotto.

This is the dilemma faced by Roxanne (Denise) in Precious Hearts Romances Presents Quickiligs:”You’re Mine, Only Mine” by well-known writer Martha Cecilia.

Lead actress Denise shared that she is very happy to be working again with the PHR team after the series Bud Brothers with Will. “Sobrang gaan ng feeling sa set and everyone is so patient and supportive.“ She adds that she is excited to be “reunited” with director Jerry Lopez-Sineneng whom she first worked with in the soap “Pangako Sayo.” When asked about her leading man Will, she smilingly shared, “Mabait siya at malambing. It took a bit of getting used to kasi ang tangkad niya.”

Will agrees with Denise when it comes to working with the PHR team. He said that sometimes it’s difficult for him to deliver his lines which are the longest lines he has to deliver so far. But he added, “working with Denise was a great experience dahil sobrang bait at lambing niya.”

In PHR’s third offering, Roxanne learns that the only way she can pay off her father’s debt is by agreeing to marry her father’s employer Alex (Will Devaughn).

In a domestic set-up where feelings are monetized and relationships are purely business, can true love still bloom?

For the very first time, the versatile actor and reality contest finalist are the lead stars of PHR. Rafael has already appeared as one of the Bud Brothers and has also been part of Your Song, I Love Betty la Fea, Maligno and Rounin while this is the biggest break for Paw who has also appeared in Natutulog ba ang Diyos, Qpids and Magkano ang Iyong Dangal.

When asked about their daring scenes, Paw shared, “Kinakabahan ako ng bongga. Although medyo madali kasi friends naman kami ni Rafael pero sana huwag naman masyadong daring,” sabay tawa ng dalaga. Dagdag niya pa, ”Si direk Connie, lagi niya akong kinakausap tungkol sa role. Nanonood kami ng different movies para makakita ng iba’t ibang atake sa mga characters.”

Rafael had a different view on his role of being sexy, ”Ako sa PHR, accept lang ako ng accept kasi I love working with the team and I like the roles they’re giving me. Napansin ko rin na ung mga characters na binibigay sa akin ay may angst side and I like portraying characters na hindi perfect. For me, work is work. If you’re married, things do happen that are very passionate. I’m just portraying the truth.”

In the story, Brent (Rafael), a handsome CEO of a big engineering company, is planned to be wed to his model fiancée Candra (Carla Humphries). But because the bride-to-be had suddenly gone missing in action, Brent will look for a substitute bride in the form of Brent’s secretary, Wilda (Paw) who has a crush on her boss.

They first touched viewers’ hearts as Pepper and Rei in the Bud Brothers series as many found themselves hooked to their love team and undeniable on screen chemistry. Because of the demand from the fast growing number of fans and supporters, the Kaye Abad and Guji Lorenzana tandem will once again be seen for the second time around.

Kaye narrated that she was very excited when she found out about the story and how some of the scenes, specifically the love scene, would be done. “Nae-excite ako dun kasi madre ako and at the same time may gusto siya sa akin. Pano niya ako aakitin, kung ano yung mangyayari… Talagang dapat mapanood ito ng mga viewers.” Guji also admitted that the two are now much more comfortable and at ease working together.

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina was all smiles doing the project. She shares why she enjoyed directing the two young actors, “Totoong tao kasi si Femi, nagkakamali, kumakapit sa patalim, gumagawa ng mga kasinungalingan pero ang laging mahalaga naman is yung redemption after, what you learn after the mistake. Not only her, but also Aaron. Two flawed characters na matututo towards the end.”

She also added that Kaye and Guji have become very close off cam. When asked whether the two have a brewing romance together, the well-known director laughed and stated that viewers should just catch their ‘sweetness’ on screen. The question everyone is now asking: Is there real life romance between Kaye and Guji?

The story revolves around two totally opposite people – Femi (Kaye), a no non-sense woman who is used to hard work and who only wants to help her family get a better life and Aaron (Guji), a rich loner whose only dream is to be an artist, which goes against his dad’s plan for him. Femi has a huge crush on campus heartthrob Aaron and eventually, they get along well with each other.

They will once again meet in a reunion 10 years after only to find out a shocking revelation – Femi is now a nun! Will there still be hope for a second chance on love?

Somewhere in My Heart is the third installment of the kapamilya soap Precious Hearts Romances after the second featured book “Ang Lalaking Nagmahal sa Akin” starring Toni Gonzaga and Derek Ramsay. Returning as love team are Kaye Abad and Guji Lorenzana, who both appeared in Bud Brothers.

In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, Kaye Abad expressed her gratitude to her home network for entrusting her with this project.

“Excited na meron na kaming sarili naming series. Sa Bud Brothers kasi parang one week lang ‘yung story namin. This time mas mahaba na ‘yung kwento namin. Kumportable na kami sa isa’t isa. Naka-build na rin kami ng mas malalim na friendship ngayon,” she said.

The love team of Kaye and Guji gained such a fan following in Bud Brothers that’s why the network gave them their own series. Since they now have regular roles on tv, Kaye and Guji are becoming more comfortable with each other which is crucial in the success of their love team since their roles are demanding not just kissing scenes but “love” scenes.

As with other love teams, Guji and Kaye are being rumored to be playing their roles in real life. Guji denied the said speculations saying he doesn’t want to ruin his friendship with Kaye. Guji also admitted that he’s not yet ready to have a new relationship because the reason why he came back to the Philippines is because he’s been brokenhearted in the States.

Precious Hearts Romances Presents Somewhere in My Heart is helmed by box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina. It is premiering soon under the Hapontastic block of ABS-CBN.

Pinoy Big Brother Season 3, Double Up!

The switching of timeslots of Boys Over Flowers and Pinoy Bingo Night beginning May 18 (Monday) worked for ABS-CBN as it was able to score a perfect score of 100% trumping all GMA programs.

Boys Over Flowers was able to beat the top-rating GMA game show Hole in the Wall. Take note that Hole in the Wall is the erstwhile leader nationwide in the early primetime timeslot beating Kris Aquino’s Pinoy Bingo Night.

In the late night block, Pinoy Bingo Night was able to beat the Taiwanese series on GMA Fated to Love You. This prompted Showbiz News Ngayon to be pitted with the “Bilib Ka Ba Nights” of GMA-7 and for the first time, SNN won against its rival.

The Bud Brothers Series is a group of eight best selling novels written by Filipino Romance Writer, Rose Tan. It has sold more than 15,000 copies during it’s first printing in the Philippines in 2002 and has been expanded into a franchise (Bud Brothers Group and Bud Brothers Unlimited) by it’s Publisher Precious Pages Corp by 2005.

The books tells the story of eight different men who decided to start a flower farm in Lian, Batangas and their adventures in love. The fictional farm is called The Bud Brothers Flower Farm thus explaining the name of the series.
