In the daytime race, Eat Bulaga! still dominated Mega Manila’s viewership. Sunshine Dizon’s “Tinik sa Dibdib” captured the 2nd spot last Tuesday and Wednesday. But on Thursday, “Hole in the Wall” surprisingly took the second position.

ABS-CBN’s “Lovers in Paris,” on the other hand, is stronger in Mega Manila than in nationwide tv ratings. It’s the top-rating ABS-CBN program in Mega Manila last Tuesday and Thursday.

Although Rosalinda failed to beat Tayong Dalawa and Only You, the entry of the new teleserye benefited the late-primetime block of GMA.

Marvin Agustin, Dennis Trillo and Jolina Magdangal‘s Adik Sa ‘Yo was pitted with The Wedding of Anne Curtis, Zanjoe Marudo and Derek Ramsay. Adik registered 20.5% against the Wedding‘s 19.6%.

The GMA koreanovela “Cruel Love” also emerged victorious against ABS-CBN’s Showbiz News Ngayon. Cruel Love registered 15.1% against SNN‘s 12.6% last Monday night.

Even Chris Tiu‘s Believe it Or Not trumped Bandila, Saksi trumped Kalye and iWitness trumped Games Uplate Live. Bandila (ABS-CBN) got 7.2% against Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’s (GMA-7) 8.8%; Kalye received (ABS-CBN) 3.9% against Saksi’s (GMA-7) 5.1%; and lastly, Games Uplate Live (ABS-CBN) garnered only 1% versus I Witness (GMA-7) which registered 4.1%.

It’s true that Boy and Kris will be replaced with a new show with Ai Ai delas Alas and Ruffa Gutierrez as hosts. The new show is called “Ruffa and Ai” and it will begin on February 16, 2009.

So what will happen to Boy and Kris? The Philippines King and Queen of talk is moving to the primetime block to change the Philippine primetime TV experience with the first primetime entertainment news program titled SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.

As ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Deo Endrinal said, “the witty and weighty repartee of the king and queen of talk, the nights of ABS-CBN Channel 2 viewers are bound to be livelier.”

Last Wednesday night, the Rhian Ramos-JC de Vera starrer was able to snatch the top spot from Gagambino in the primetime race by registering a higher-than-usual 36.3 percent. This is the first time that Gagambino was beaten since its debut on October 20. It even shared the top spot with Codename: Asero last Monday with 33.3 percent.

It’s a tough challenge for Gagambino to maintain it’s status as the new primetime leader after Dyesebel since it’s average rating is not far from La Lola and Codename: Asero. Nevertheless, GMA’s primetime lineup is showing strength in Mega Manila as their shows are dominating the Top 5 even in the daytime block.

The original “La Lola” from Argentina is currently nominated for Best Telenovela in the 2008 International Emmy Awards.

In the daytime race, Ryan Agoncillo‘s Pieta occupied the timeslot of Roxanne Guinoo’s Ligaw na Bulaklak. It premiered last Monday afternoon with 15.4 percent which is good for 8th place.
