John Carlo de Vera, better known by his screen name J.C. de Vera (born March 10, 1986 in Manila), is one of TV5′s prized possessions. From being GMA’s drama prince, JC faced his crossroads and transferred to the kapatid network.

He is currently seen on the gag show “Lokomoko U,” the variety show “PO5″ and his drama anthology “5 Star Specials.”

He is co-starring with Sarah Geronimo, Judy Ann Santos and Luis Manzano in the upcoming Viva Films movie “Hating Kapatid.”

S Magazine December 2009 issue is now available nationwide wherever magazines are sold.

The Special Edition, a joint project with the GMAAC, showcases the lifestyles of the many versatile artists of GMA 7′s talent management and development arm. The magazine offers not just the glamorous aspect of the stars’ lives, but also gives a peek at what it’s like when they’re off camera but still working and while they’re on their leisure time.

“We also want to be at the crest of the wave of the future, betting on these potential superstars who shall hopefully enliven and add new sizzle to local show business,” says editor-in-chief Wilson Lee Flores.

The Special Edition features Rhian Ramos on the cover and in glamorous shoots inside. Iza Calzado and Isabel Oli are showcased in fashion spreads of their own. Mark Herras and Aljur Abrenica sizzle in their pictorials. Marvin Agustin bares a different side as he engages in his favorite sport, archery. Yasmien Kurdi and Nadine Samonte go glam in an awards-night scenario. Iwa Moto and Jackie Rice are the bathing beauties in their respective photographs. In the said issue, S Magazine released their Top 20 Sexiest Bachelors in Showbiz and numero uno in their list is GMA’s very own, Aljur Abrenica.

Aljur evolved this year as a hot hunk possessing one of the sexiest bodies in Philippine showbiz. Last month, Aljur was selected by Cosmopolitan Magazine as one of their 10 Centerfold Hunks for 2009. And earlier this year, Aljur topped our annual poll–100 Sexiest Men in the Philippines–being voted as RP’s Sexiest Man of 2009.

Aljur has a movie currently showing in theaters entitled “Nandito Ako…Umiibig Sa ‘Yo.” The Regal Films’ romantic drama is Aljur’s first starring role in a movie together with his onscreen partner, Kris Bernal.

Aljur is also the newest Bench endorser. He is now seen on billboards and print ads for Bench’s Raw Overhauled Jeans.

Despite being accused of sexual harassment a couple of months ago, Aljur’s journey to stardom did not slow down. He is now posed to become one of GMA’s top leading men to follow the footsteps of Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo and Richard Gutierrez.
