After 23 years of working with ABS-CBN, the Megastar transferred to TV5. She signed a 5-year contract with the “Happy Network” earlier this evening, November 22, 2011, at TV5 Marajo office.

Present at the contract signing were TV5 President and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa and TV5 COO Robert Barreiro.

According to reports, Sharon’s upcoming projects on TV5 include a daily talk show, a reality show, and a movie.

Rumor has it that Sharon’s 5-year contract with TV5 is worth P1 billion. If this is true, then Sharon is indeed the “Biggest Gainer” in Philippine showbiz history!

Dubbed as the biggest deal of the Manny Pangilinan-TV Network thus far, Sharon is reportedly offered a talk show as her initial project with the station.

But of course, ABS-CBN still has a week to make a counter-offer to the Megastar for her to remain a Kapamilya.

In an interview with TV Patrol last night, August 24, the Megastar said she’s not free to talk about what her daughter is going through with her lovelife. But then she addressed her concerns to KC because she said she “couldn’t help speaking her mind.”

“Basta, Kristina, mama’s here. Don’t forget you’re my daughter. We love you. We went through so much when you were little. You don’t have to go through it yourself,” she said.

Then she continued, “Kasi, ‘di ko pinalaki ‘yan para i-take for granted lang at balewalain.”

Earlier this year, Piolo admitted on national television that he and KC have been a couple since October 2010. And KC herself testified last Sunday on her showbiz talk show “The Buzz” that she and Piolo have been going out for 10 months.

However, rumor has it that the power couple had broken up.

The speculations started last April when Piolo did not show up on KC’s birthday. KC even wished that she receives a birthday greeting from her boyfriend but it never happened.

Then KC reportedly visited Piolo in one of his shoots unannounced to catch a glimpse of him. She went in front of him, yelled “Happy Anniversary” and left the scene abruptly. People who witnessed it said there’s something odd about what happened.

Is Piolo avoiding KC? Have they really broken up? These issues are yet to be answered by either one of them.

It took them more than 3 months to admit that they are in a relationship. How many months will it take this time for them to admit that it’s over?

Twenty-two year-old Eric Limatog was eliminated last week from the “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition,” after a dramatic and tense-filled fifth weigh-in and elimination ceremony.

Eric was voted out by the remaining “bigating Pinoy” after he and Angela Lupango fell below the yellow line in their very first weigh-in since the Blue and Red Teams merged.

An emotional Eric, who was the previous week’s biggest loser, threatened to go back to his old and unhealthy habits if he was to be sent home that night.

This stunt wasn’t taken lightly by his fellow contestants especially when he stood his ground after host Sharon Cuneta tried to encourage him to continue his fight against obesity.

Sharon even shared to them how she dealt with criticisms about her weight, and how they have inspired her to lose 13 lbs. since the show began.

But it seems Eric already had a change of heart after leaving the camp. Far from the pessimistic and sore loser that the public saw last week, Eric is now brimming with positivity and is willing to push through in transforming his life outside the Biggest Loser Camp.

In an interview, Eric said he is still on a strict diet and continues to workout at home.

“I want to prove to everyone that Eric is still a fighter. I am more hard-working now.
I live a very healthy lifestyle. I even teach my family, relatives, and friends about proper diet and exercise,” he said.

He added that he is very thankful for all his experiences in the show. “It is true that The Biggest Loser is inspiring. For me, it’s not just a simple program because it has changed not only my life but also the lives of people around me. I hope to share what I know now to more people.”

Losing only four pounds each, Eric and Angela were the tail-enders in their first singles competitive weigh-in. Alan actually lost the least weight but was saved by the immunity he got for winning the water challenge.

Former policeman Larry, meanwhile, snatched the title of Biggest Loser of the Week after shedding eight pounds or 3.86% of his previous weight.

On their seventh week of intense training, Alan, Angela, Art, Eboy, Joy, Hazel, Larry, Raffy, Ryan, and Winwin are more vulnerable to physical and emotional stress and with last week’s turn of events, the bigating Pinoy are feeling the pressure of competition now more than ever.

The show even became a top trending topic in Twitter during its pilot airing with people tweeting their sentiments as they were touched if not inspired by the stories and determination of the contestants.

After posting a rating of 20.5 percent on its premiere telecast based on the national TV ratings from Kantar Media last Monday (May 30), the Sharon Cuneta-hosted reality show has consistently crushed competition and entered the top five TV programs in the country on a daily basis.

More importantly, the inspiring stories of the 14 “Bigating Pinoy” contestants have moved viewers, even Sharon herself.

When the Megastar first met the contestants, who from being 12 became 14 after an early twist in the competition, they felt star-struck and were at loss for words. But the scenes during the recent weigh-in would show the iconic singer-actress was just as at awe and honored to have met them.

Obviously fighting tears, Sharon made a surprising revelation while the contestants lined up to find out their starting weight.

“I had a midlife crisis. I was very angry. ‘Cause I was everybody’s sweetheart all of a sudden I turned a year older, everybody changed. And I lost all desire to look good,” she bravely said.

But after seeing the determination of the 14 to face the truth about their condition and their determination to transform their lives, Sharon regained faith in herself to change for the better.

“Thank you for making me feel this. I will work hard to slim down and get back in shape,” she said.

The transformation of the lives of 12 overweight Filipinos finally begins on Monday (May 30) in the much-awaited premiere of one of Philippine TV’s biggest reality shows in history, “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition.”

Witness success stories as they happen as contestants of “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” undergo emotional and physical challenges to get in shape and change the course of their lives towards winning P1 million, a condominium unit from DMCI Homes, a Vespa scooter and the title “The Very First Pinoy Biggest Loser.”

ABS-CBN’s newest reality TV show offering also marks the return of Philippine Showbiz’s one and only Megastar Sharon Cuneta to primetime. Joining her is actor-sports enthusiast Derek Ramsay, who will serve as the game master during the program’s challenges.

Over the past week, ABS-CBN revealed the identities of its 12 contestants—seven males and five females—who all have heartfelt stories that can bring both tears and inspiration to every Filipino.

Architect Alan Choachuy wants to lose weight to be able to meet and watch his grandchildren grow. Art Mendoza, who recently separated from his wife, doesn’t want to die obese and not be able to live out his dream. Eboy Bautista, meanwhile, has always been on the heavy side, but the death of his father has got him thinking about his own mortality.

There is also Eric Limatog, an emotional eater, who ballooned to his current weight due to his mother’s illness, and fire volunteer JM Oloris who is afraid that people will tease his children because of his weight. Raffy Tan, who lost his parents in a gruesome crime, wants to be healthy so that he can give his sister a good future, while Ryan Razon hopes to learn to love himself and no longer be the “not-so-good-looking Razon son.”

Among the women, there is Angela Lupango who is desperate to shed the pounds so she could start a family with her husband and Winwin Cabinta who wants to finally look like a real lady after being mistaken for a tomboy most of her life.

Edden Cruz joined the show because she believes she can’t afford to get sick as her children depend on her. Hazel Chua took the challenge so her parents will be proud of her. Meanwhile, Joy Siy said she is doing this for herself and no one else. Through the show, they hope to not just lose weight but to also gain confidence and knowledge that will make them better persons after.

In the show’s first weeks, the contestants will be divided into two teams—the Red Team will be trained by U.S. certified fitness specialist and mixed martial artist Chinggay Andrada while the Blue Team will be guided by sports scientist Jim Saret who was recently appointed by the Philippine Olympic Committee as head trainer of the National Team.

Each week, there will be a weigh-in. The team with the higher percentage of weight loss will be safe from elimination, while members of the losing team will each decide who they want to eliminate from their group.

Cuneta, who recently opened up about her own battle against weight gain in the program’s first primer “Bigating Pinoy,” said that the program hopes to change the lives of the viewers as much as the contestants. She said the program will impart guidance and information that Filipinos can use to start leading healthy lives and in building a stronger nation.

“Remember that when you choose to have a healthy lifestyle, you are given more time to become a father, a mother, a child, a sibling or friend to the people you hold close to your heart,” she said.

In a rare TV interview, the Megastar will share the physical and emotional pains of people who are regarded by society as fat, obese, and heavy.

“Unfortunately, society judges you according to your physical appearance. It’s not really according to your abilities and your talents. Minsan kahit it’s very unfair, it’s a reality,” she explained.

But she is not the only one opening up on Sunday’s TV special, entitled “Bigating Pinoy: The Biggest Loser Primer.” To prove that obesity is a serious problem in the country that should be addressed, the primer will also show case studies featuring six “heavy” Pinoys.

The list includes seven year old child star Karl Camo of “Goin’ Bulilit.” While people find him cuddly and cute, he is also in a crucial state of child obesity. Danica, 14, has to deal with greater pressure growing up because of her weight. Twenty-two year old Alvin, on the other hand, has been rejected over and over during job applications.

There is also Lorie, 33, who can’t bear a child because of excessive fat in her body. Forty year old Rowena, meanwhile, is a mom but can’t attend her children’s graduation in fear that they will be teased by their classmates because of her.

Finally, get to meet Reinnier, who at 25 already has a memorial plan due to the health risks of his obesity.

If you ask Sharon, she believes that there is still hope for all of them to improve their lives. That is if they begin taking care of their health like her. She said, “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” can be a source of inspiration to people like them, and even those who are perfectly fit and healthy.

“Kayang-kaya ‘yan. ‘Pag nakita niyo yung journey ng mga contestant to lose weight, I think representation din yan ng kaniya-kaniyang problemang pinagdadaanan natin, kahit hindi siya obesity,” Sharon stressed.

Akiko, K-La, Angeline, Krissel and Monica competed for the last time Sunday night during the grand finals of Star Power held at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

There were 3 rounds of fierce showdown. Akiko Solon of Cebu was the first to get eliminated during round 1 when each of the final 5 performed a song of their own choice.

During the second round, the remaining four contestants sang songs that were chosen by the judges for them. K-La Rivera was the second finalist to get the boot.

The remaining three finalists–Monica, Angeline and Krissel–each performed an original song from Star Records as their final hurdle.

Monica Sacay of Leyte settled for third place. Angeline Quinto was announced the grand winner while Krissel Valdez of Davao ended up in 2nd place.

The prizes that Angeline won include 1 million Pesos, a car, an entertainment showcase from Sony, diamond jewelries, and a recording contract from Star Records.

Sharon Cuneta also announced during the grand finals that all 5 Star Power finalists will become mainstay of ASAP Rocks beginning this Sunday, February 27.

Is Sharon Cuneta getting onion-skinned lately?

Yesterday she took offense at Hayden Kho’s tweet regarding a certain billboard along EDSA.

Here’s the infamous tweet posted on Hayden Kho‘s Twitter account last January 8:

“There’s a billboard ad in EDSA developed by advertisers who think consumer are stupid. Guess.”

Sharon assumes that Kho was referring to her controversial “Before and After” Marie France billboard along EDSA. The billboard shows a bigger version of her (before) and a slimmer version of her (after) which some people criticized last week as being photoshopped.

The Megastar told Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) on Wednesday:

“Kung totoo ‘yon, ang kapal ng mukha niya. Tapos, mambabastos siya? As far as I’m concerned, stupid people shouldn’t comment on what is stupid or not.”

“If I may add to that: Decent people are [the only] people I would like to listen to. Not those who do not know the meaning of decency. And who treat women like they’re nothing! Excuse me.”

Hayden replied to Sharon’s statements on his Twitter account:

“Wow. I wasn’t referring to MF. I was referring to a certain L**D, that’s supposed to be “LOURDES”. Dahan dahan naman po.”

Another message was posted on his twitter referring to Sharon’s outburst against him: “That was quite a wounding tirade from someone i respect. Ironic, really. Very ironic.”

Sharon has been very sensitive in the past when people talk about her figure. She had a feud with Willie Revillame before when the latter joked about her weight in the now defunct noontime show Wowowee.

Sharon has also been vocal about her disappointments with other celebrities. Last year, She felt Aga Muhlach doesn’t want to do a movie with her. Also last year, she felt offended and disrespected by her unexpected involvement in Sarah Geronimo-Cristine Reyes feud.
