Astig Pinoy wowed resident judge Vice Ganda and most of the returning judges and took home the P2 million cash prize – P1 million for them and P1 million for the barangay they represent.

The stunned crowd even cheered louder when the dancers blindfolded themselves and skillfully maneuvered between bamboo poles. On what was apparently the highlight of their routine, Vice commented, “That was the best routine I’ve ever seen in ‘Showtime.’ It was more difficult than the most difficult tumbling move.”

“Showtime” also granted P100,000 to UDC for being the People’s Choice, or the group that received the most votes from select spectators at the Ynares Center. P100,000 were likewise given each to Brgy. Bunao of Dumaguete City (Prime Machine) and Brgy. Dela Paz of Antipolo (Pinoy HipHop) for doing the best intro for the group they represent.

With their unique and impressive dance routine, Astig Pinoy bested other grand finalists with an average score of 9.93. They defeated Kalumon Performing Ensemble of Davao, Neutron Acrobats of Bulacan, D’ Shots of Caloocan, Kingz Gambit of Cebu, FMD Extreme of Marikina, Pinoy Hiphop of Antipolo, Racing Chat of Sampaloc, Bailes De Luces of Negros Occidental, Buli Kidz Incredible of Batangas, Teatro Ambahanon of QC, UDC of Pasig and Prime Machine of Negros Oriental.

The contemporary dancing duo Spy, meanwhile, was not able to perform when member Regine sustained an ankle injury during one of their dance rehearsals.

Astig Pinoy took home P1 million cash prize and another P1 million for the barangay they represent.

Meanwhile, the UDC dance group from Pasig won as “Madlang People’s Choice” while Barangay Buñao of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental and Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City won the best barangay intro. Each recieved P100,000 cash prize.

Last October 19, Anne Curtis performed a pole dancing and air dancing number with matching singing to boot which is part of the week-long 2nd anniversary celebration of ABS-CBN’s talent variety program “Showtime.”

This morning, October 22, Pinoy Big Brother himself declared Anne Curtis as the winner of talent showdown of the program’s hosts by garnering perfect 10 scores from special anniversary judges namely Dr. Manny Calayan, Cathy Garcia-Molina, Joel Cruz, Liz Uy and Dra. Vicki Belo.

Curtis thanked Jed Madela who held the mic for her while she’s performing the routine. She received a cash prize of P100,000 which, she said, will be donated to UNICEF Philippines.

Tied in second place were Vice Ganda and Billy Crawford who each received a cash prize of P50,000.

Other participants were Kuya Kim, Vhong Navarro, and Karylle.

Anne Curtis reveals she is not just an actress, a covergirl, a host and recording artist. As part of the 2nd anniversary presentation of “Showtime” last October 19, Anne surprised everyone when she showed them that she has more to offer.

The “madlang people” and the “hurados” composed of celebrity cosmetic surgeons Vicki Belo and Manny Calayan, entrepreneur Joel Cruz, celebrity stylist Liz Uy, and director Cathy Garcia-Molina, were all in awe after Anne showcased her pole and air dancing abilities with some singing to boot.

She sang Adele‘s “Someone Like You” while being pulled upside down. And then she capped the performance by singing Aerosmith‘s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” before plunging into a tub full of water.

The drama unfolded yesterday (October 8), when Ryan Bang was finally evicted as “hurado” from the ABS-CBN talent variety program after an astounding 48 weeks. Ryan got 25.63% of eviction votes, the second highest among the four judges, while Dimples got 18.91%, the second lowest.

As we all know, the two highest vote-getters will be the “burado” or the judges who will get the boot. After learning the results, Ryan Bang broke into tears. Some of the hosts like Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis also cried because they’ve been with Ryan for more than a year.

This is the moment when Dimples Romana decided to announce that she’s evicting herself to reinstate Ryan Bang as a Showtime judge.

“Since I still have my seat, I think I have the power to give Ryan to have my seat. Ryan is a good man, and I hope po na maging masaya kayong lahat sa pagbabalik ni Ryan. I’m self-evicting….Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa lahat sa inyo. Alam nyo po, ang hindi ma-vote off ang isang hurado ng limang linggo at palagpas pa ay sobra-sobra na pong regalo, sobra sobra na pong kabutihan ng buong Showtime at di ko na po magawang humiling ng sobra sobra. Effective Monday I will be out of Showtime and Ryan will take my seat,” she said.

This is actually the second time that Dimples Romana has resigned as a Showtime judge. Early 2010 when she was also one of the judges of the talent variety show, she also gave up her post because of her conflicting schedules.

Today’s “it” girl Coleen Garcia is being courted by former PBB teenternational housemate, Ryan Bang. Seriously.

In an interview by ABS-CBNNews.com, Bang admitted that he has a crush on Coleen since the “Good Vibes” star became his co-judge in the daily talent variety program “Showtime.”

However, the Korean lad also admitted that he believes he has no chance of winning Coleen’s nod.

“Ako, crush na crush ko si Coleen talaga. Hindi ako nagsisinungaling. Pero si Coleen, ewan ko kung gusto niya ako,” Ryan said.

When asked why he feels that way, Bang said that he thinks that Coleen would not take him seriously because of his comic personality.

“Ako, masaya siya kasama sa ‘Showtime’. Ako, lagi ko siyang liligawan pero wala siyang reaksyon. Hindi ko alam. Sa tingin niya joke joke ako kasi komedyante ako. Hindi ko alam. Hindi ako guwapo kasi,” he said.

Lal-lo’s Blacklight Performers tied with dance group Xtreme 24/7 in second place (9.10) followed by 89.9 Hoodz (8.9), Mama’s Boys (8.33), Big Trio (8.29), Kids@Trix (7.9), Ground Zero (7.9), Zero Gravity (7.67), and Speed Movers Crew (7.43).

The Laoag City Gymnastics Group, which succeeded first season’s champion “XB Gensan,” took home the coveted P1 million prize.

Ever since the group performed in Showtime during the weekly eliminations, it has never failed to make the “madlang people” give a standing ovation, making them the group to beat come the grand finals.

The high-flying and back-breaking acrobatics and choreography of Laoag City Gymnastics Group won the favor of resident judge Vice Ganda and returning guest judges like Karylle, Ryan Bang, Jhong Hilario, Mickey Ferriols, Papa Jack, and Richard Poon.

Meanwhile, watch out for the “Showtime” Christmas special with hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Kuya Kim Atienza, Jugs of Itchyworms, Teddy of Rocksteddy and resident judge Vice Ganda from Monday (Dec 20) to Friday (Dec 24) featuring some of the biggest stars in the country.
