GMA’s long-running Sunday musical variety show “SOP” just aired its final episode dubbed as “SOP: The Final Party.”

The whole cast and crew of SOP (Sobrang Okey, Pare!) were present on its final episode, Sunday of February 28, fronted by its main hosts The Songwriter Ogie Alcasid, Kind of Soul Janno Gibbs, Queen of Soul Jaya and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.

“The Final Party” looks back to its very first episode on February 2, 1997 and the greatest moments in its 13 years of airing on Philippine television.

In the final number, Ogie Alcasid and Janno Gibbs hinted in their “Sobrang OJ” number that although they were beaten by ASAP in the ratings game, the battle is not over.

Here’s the lyrics from the said number:

After the number, a map of the Philippines under a black background was flashed on the screen with the words “Let’s Party, Pilipinas!”

Apparently, Party Pilipinas is the title of the show to replace SOP on March 21, 2010. Ogie, Regine, Janno and Jaya together with Jay-R, Kyla and La Diva will be retained for the upcoming Sunday party on GMA.

SOP’s Bro Band consists of Aljur Abrenica, Gian Magdangal, Matteo Guidicelli, Gerald Santos, Paulo Avelino, Chris Cayzer and Dennis Trillo.

ASAP beauties Melissa Ricks, Toni Gonzaga, Nikki Gil, Iya Villania and Kim Chiu danced the “Nobody” choreography. They could have been a nice Pinoy version of the Wondergirls, if only they sang the song and not just danced to the song. Hope they’ll perform it next time, it will be very interesting. Nevertheless, the five girls were so cute doing the Wondergirls’ “Nobody” routine.

In SOP, on the other hand, Dennis Trillo sang an acoustic version of “Nobody” with back-up vocals from La Diva and other SOP female singers. I must say that Dennis Trillo’s version rocks! It’s a refreshing version of the song and it should be made into a single. Sayang nga lang di ko narecord ng buo.

All My Life is set to premiere on June 29, Monday night, before 24 Oras. Its premise revolves around young lovers Jules (Aljur Abrenica) and Romina (Kris Bernal), with their romance shrouded by their families’ conflict.

All My Life is Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal’s second major project on the kapuso network after the highly successful soap opera “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin.”

Aljur and Kris will be supported by a powerful cast which includes Manilyn Reynes, Lani Mercado, Jay Manalo, Zoren Legaspi, Jay Aquitania, Steff Prescott, LJ Reyes, Jade Lopez, Chris Cayzer, Bryan Termulo, Paulo Avelino, and Gelli de Belen. Although the controversy is still being deliberated in the court with Katrina suing Dr. Hayden Kho, Dra. Vicki Belo, Hayden’s mom and all other involved in the alleged leak of her infamous sex video, she is coming back to work on television setting aside the controversies for the meantime.

GMA gave her the coveted role of “Fedra” in the upcoming Philippine remake of the hit Mexican telenovela Rosalinda. Katrina will play nemesis to the lead star Carla Abellana.

Aside from the primetime series, Katrina will also grace the cover of Cosmopolitan Philippines July 2009 issue.

To herald Katrina’s return to work, GMA noontime show SOP prepared a grand welcome number for the sexy actress.

The Idol Experience is happening on December 20 and 21(Saturday and Sunday), 8 PM at the Aliw Theater.
