GMA’s Stairway to Heaven and ABS-CBN’s Lovers in Paris were supposed to be airing under the same timeslots, however, the kapuso network swapped the schedules of Full House and Stairway last Monday due to the poor performance of the Richard Gutierrez-starrer.

Here are the ratings received by the two koreanovela remakes from Tuesday to Thursday:

Wednesday:
STH – 25.4%
LIP – 30.6%

Both programs have increased their ratings as they head toward the finale episode on Friday, but of course, Lovers in Paris fared higher than Stairway to Heaven because TNS national survey is ABS-CBN’s turf.

The finale episode of Survivor Philippines Palau registered 31.3% in Mega Manila which is good for third place. Although It wasn’t able to top the primetime race, it bested its 30.8% pilot episode last August.

Based on overnight TV ratings data from AGB Nielsen Philippines’ for Mega Manila last November 12, Stairway to Heaven led all primetime programs with a household rating of 36.4%. The episode highlighted the very touching union of sweethearts Cholo and Jodi who have been separated for a long time.

Since its debut last September 14, the drama series has charmed and tantalized viewers with its beautiful storyline, excellent actors and high production values. The effective portrayal of the actors who have very well elicited their emotions and acting prowess is also commendable.

GMA Network once again proved its forte in delivering beautiful traditional drama soaps in primetime TV following the success of Stairway to Heaven in the hearts of television audiences.

Based on data from AGB Nielsen Philippines’ overnight ratings among Mega Manila households, Stairway to Heaven continues to beat its competitor with 28.9% and 31.2% overnight ratings on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Viewers instantly fell in love with the characters of star-crossed lovers Cholo and Jodi played by Dingdong Dantes and Rhian Ramos. Both stars were able to give stellar performances to their respective roles which by far exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Dingdong’s portrayal of Cholo is a big revelation in the remake. He is very convincing as the Pinoy Cholo along with his arresting good looks and impressive acting skills. Viewers are continuously impressed by Dingdong’s range of emotions which simply bewitches and makes everyone swoon over him even more.

Rhian, on the other hand, shines in her own way as the Pinay Jodi. She gives a new face on the character of Jodi/Jena which excites and surprises her adoring fans and supporters. She is truly exquisite, a beauty to behold as they show progresses.

The worst pilot episode of a GMA koreanovela remake is still “All About Eve” which registered 26.1% last March 9, 2009.

TV5′s Talentadong Pinoy, on the other hand, reclaimed the no. 1 position last Saturday night after it bowed to Kapuso Mo, Jessica Sojo the other week.
