‘May Bukas Pa’ and ‘Tayong Dalawa’ Win in 31st Catholic Mass Media Awards

The 31st Catholic Mass Media Awards was held Wednesday night at the San Carlos Seminary Auditorium in Makati City with ABS-CBN’s “May Bukas Pa” and “Tayong Dalawa” winning the Best Drama Series.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ Tops Nationwide TV Ratings

Not only Tayong Dalawa topped the Mega Manila TV ratings Thursday night but it was also able to dominate the nationwide primetime race last Wednesday and Thursday night nationwide.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ Pre-Finale Episode Beats ‘Darna’ in AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings

The second to the last episode of Tayong Dalawa was able to topple Darna from the top spot of AGB Mega Manila tv ratings.

The pre-finale episode of the ABS-CBN teleserye received a 36.4% rating which is good enough to top the primetime race in Mega Manila. Darna, on the other hand, received 35.4% last night that it settled for second place in AGB’s top 10 programs in the primetime block.

This is the very first time that GMA’s Darna lost the no. 1 position in Mega Manila.

‘Ikaw Na Sana’ Fails to Enter Primetime’s Top 10

The newest GMA teleserye “Ikaw Na Sana” starring Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras missed the Top 10 in Mega Manila last Monday night despite two shows tied at no. 6.

Heralding Tayong Dalawa’s final week last Monday night, 5 kapamilya programs occupied the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th slots in Mega Manila nudging down some kapuso programs. The impressive showing of Tayong Dalawa even spoiled the pilot episode of Ikaw Na Sana as the new GMA teleserye failed to make it to primetime’s Top 10.

Darna is still unbeaten at no. 1 in Mega Manila but its top position is in danger as Tayong Dalawa airs its final episodes beginning tonight until friday night.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ Tops Nationwide Survey on its 2nd to the Last Week

ABS-CBN’s hit teleserye “Tayong Dalawa” consistently topped the TNS Nationwide TV Ratings on it’s second to the last week before finale.

The well loved drama series hits 40.1% last Tuesday and tied with May Bukas Pa last Wednesday with 39.2 percent. Last Thursday, it once again took the solo lead with 39.3 percent.

Florinda was able to beat Survivor Philippines Palau last Tuesday night. But on Wednesday and Thursday, the GMA reality program proved to be stronger than the horror series.

In the daytime race, Kambal Sa Uma hit no. 1 from Tuesday to Thursday except on Wednesday when Wowowee took over the top spot.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ Hunks are on the Cover of Starstudio September 2009 Issue

The three hotties of ABS-CBN’s primetime teleserye – Jake Cuenca, Coco Martin and Gerald Anderson – are on the cover of Starstudio magazine for the month of September.

While the top-rating teleserye is nearing its finale, its three hunks have established themselves as actors with very good portrayal of their roles.

Coco Martin, dubbed as the indie prince, is currently promoting his Cannes’-nominated film “Kinatay” in selected theaters. He is slated to star in another indie movie “Tinawag.”

Jake Cuenca is slated to star in the second installment of Agimat: Mga Ang Alamat ni Ramon Revilla entitled Elias Paniki. He is also one of the cast of the upcoming Marian Rivera movie Nieves.

Gerald Anderson is currently seen in the first installment of Agimat series entitled “Tiagong Akyat.” The kapamilya golden boy is also chosen by Cosmopolitan Philippines as this year’s top hunk in their annual Cosmo Men special.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ Steals No. 1 Spot from ‘May Bukas Pa’ in TNS Nationwide TV Ratings

May Bukas Pa regained the no. 1 position last Friday after TV Patrol World held that spot for 3 consecutive days last week. However, the no. 1 position was taken by Tayong Dalawa last Monday.

Only You took the 2nd spot last Monday night nudging May Bukas Pa into 3rd place. GMA’s Darna dropped to no. 4 nationwide.

ABS-CBN Hits Top 3 in Total Urban Luzon TV Ratings From July 19 to 25

ABS-CBN placed it’s 3 primetime series in the Top 30 highest-rating shows in Urban Luzon based from the overnight tv ratings of AGB Nielsen from the period July 19 to 25, 2009.

The Top 3 programs in the area were May Bukas Pa (#1), Tayong Dalawa (#2) and Only You (#3).

The highest-rating GMA show, on the other hand, was Zorro which settled on no. 4 slot followed by the leading news program 24 Oras.

The highest-rating weekday daytime program was Eat Bulaga! while the no. 1 last weekend was Kapuso Mo, Jessica Sojo. TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy is still the no. 1 game/competition program.

GMA-7 still leads in terms of household ratings and audience share over its nearest competitor, ABS-CBN. Household rating: GMA-7 (15.4 percent) vs. ABS-CBN (14.7 percent); Audience share: GMA-7 (37.5 percent) vs. ABS-CBN (35.7 percent).

GMA-7 had 15 shows in the Top 30 programs, while ABS-CBN had 14 and TV5 had one.

Tayong Dalawa, Zorro and May Bukas Pa Vying for Mega Manila’s No. 1

The primetime race in AGB Nielsen’s Mega Manila tv ratings is no longer dominated by GMA 7 as two ABS-CBN drama series keep on hitting the no. 1 spot one day or another.

It’s becoming difficult for the masked crusader Zorro to maintain the no. 1 position for GMA because the 2 drama series from ABS-CBN are equally strong. Gone were the days when GMA programs dominate the Top 5 every night, and sometimes they can even strike a Top 6!

Now, primetime leadership is always up for grabs for these 3 primetime programs and the news program 24 Oras. GMA’s newest telenovela “Rosalinda” is having difficulty in penetrating the top 5 as well as other programs like The Wedding and Adik Sa ‘Yo.

The daytime race, on the other hand, still belongs to the longest-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga.” It is safe to assume that GMA is still the dominant station in the daytime race as the no. to no. 4 position is being occupied by its soap operas “Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin”, “Daisy Siete” and “Ngayon at Kailanman.”

Mega Manila TV Ratings: Zorro, Tayong Dalawa and 24 Oras are Vying for No. 1

Three different shows topped the primetime race last July 14 to 16 based on the overnight survey of AGN Nielsen.

ABS-CBN’s Tayong Dalawa hits no. 1 again in Mega Manila last July 14 by virtue of its 32.8 percent rating. The next night, July 15, Zorro reclaims the top spot with 31.5%. On July 16, the primetime news program of GMA – 24 Oras – soared to 35.5% rating beating Zorro and Tayong Dalawa for the top spot.

If there is no clear winner in the primetime race, it’s a different story in the daytime race as the longest-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga” dominated all daytime programs from the same period.

‘Tayong Dalawa’ Grabs No. 1 in Urban Luzon TV Ratings

The ABS-CBN teleserye “Tayong Dalawa” snatched the no. 1 spot from erstwhile leaders “Zorro” and “May Bukas Pa” in Urban Luzon’s Top 30 programs from June 28 to July 4, 2009 according to AGB Nielsen.

Tayong Dalawa got an average rating of 30.8 percent. Two other kapamilya programs occupied the 2nd and 3rd spot namely May Bukas Pa (30.3 percent) and Only You (29.1 percent).

Zorro, Totoy Bato and 24 Oras took the 4th to 6th slots respectively.

Rosalinda’s Pilot Episode Disappoints

All high expectations for the newest GMA primetime series Rosalinda went down the drain when it became one of the lowest-rating pilot episodes of a GMA primetime series.

Rosalinda’s pilot episode registered a dismal 26.3% in Mega Manila, the 4th lowest GMA pilot of a primetime series in 5 years. Looking at the brighter side, the Carla Abellana starrer premiered better than All About Eve’s 26.1% last March 9, 2009, Atlantika’s 25.5% last October 3, 2006 and Adik Sa ‘Yo’s 25.4% last June 8, 2009 (Please take note that All My Life is not considered a primetime series).

To add insult to injury, Rosalinda was beaten by it’s rival shows Only You which garnered 27.5% and Tayong Dalawa which registered 31.7%. 24 Oras ruled the primetime race with 32.3% followed by Tayong Dalawa.
