According to Deadline, the odd pair will team up once more as guys from football-obsessed towns who lead rival teams in an annual tackle football game for bragging and trash-talking rights. It will also star 30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin who is set to play Wahlberg’s father.

The film, which is said to be jammed with a number of cameos, will be written by “30 Rock’s” Robert Carlock, and Scott Silveri, with the story by Owen Burke of Gary Sanchez Productions. Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy will produce.

PLOT: New York City Detective Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) is a forensic accountant who is more interested in paperwork than fieldwork. Detective Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) has been stuck working with Gamble since an embarrassing shooting. Gamble and Hoitz both admire top cops Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Danson (Dwayne Johnson), but when Gamble and Hoitz’s chance to prove themselves arises, things don’t go as planned.

Pretty quickly Titan starts to think it’s much more fun to be a villain than a good guy, except Titan doesn’t want to rule the world, he wants to destroy it, and anyone who gets in his way.
