Baron Geisler Accused of Sexual Harrasment by Yasmien Kurdi

GMA’s young actress Yasmien Kurdi filed before the Philippine National Police on Monday charges of acts of lasciviousness against the award-winning actor Baron Geisler.

The starstruck princess personally filed her complaint before the PNP Women’s Crisis and Child Protection Center in Camp Crame in Quezon City.

Yasmien said that Baron harrassed her on May 21, the first day they met at the taping of GMA’s mini-series “Suspetsa” where they’re both lead stars.

At first, Yasmien alleged that Baron talked dirty stuff on her. Then the actor showed indecent gestures with his hand at her. Yasmien finally cried foul after Baron embraced her.

The actress said the harassment occurred in front of the production staff. She also disclosed that Geisler had allegedly sent her lewd text messages.

This is the second time that Geisler has been accused of sexual harassment. The first incident was with the daughter of William Martinez and Yayo Aguila, in which the case hasn’t been resolved as of yet.

‘SRO Cinemaserye Presents Suspetsa’ on GMA-7

“Suspetsa” is the next featured telemovie on GMA-7’s SRO Cinemaserye to air beginning May 28.

Leading the cast are Starstruck season 1 alums Jennylyn Mercado, Nadine Samonte and Yasmien Kurdi. Playing their leading men are Paolo Contis, Ryan Eigenmann and the award-winning Star Magic talent Baron Geisler.

This is Jennylyn’s next project after Dramarama Sa Hapon’s “Paano Ba Ang Mangarap” while Yasmien will also be seen in Dear Friend’s next feature story titled “Madrasta”.

Nadine Samonte, on the other hand, was rumored to be transferring to the kapamilya station but this project tells otherwise.

Suspetsa, under the working title “Kahapon Lamang”, is under the direction of Mark Reyes and will air every Thursday night from May 28 to July 16, 2009.

Yasmien Kurdi is Tasya Pantasya

Tasya Pantasya is a fantasy comedy film by Carlo J. Caparas in 1994 starring Kris Aquino and Alvin Patrimonio. The film is going to be adapted by GMA 7 for television and it will star Yasmien Kurdi in the lead role.

Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita is an upcoming crime-political thriller and revenge love story produced by GMA Network adapted from the novel of Gilda Olvidado.

Multi-awarded film director Joel Lamangan directs Yasmien Kurdi, J.C. de Vera, Marvin Agustin and Angelika de la Cruz with Dina Bonnevie in a story of treachery, connivance and vengeance, and how wealth and power can ruin a society.

The novel was turned into a highly acclaimed film on 1989, it directed by the late Lino Brocka under VIVA Films. It starred Christopher de Leon, Hilda Koronel, Bembol Roco and Sharon Cuneta; both Cuneta and Koronel were nominated for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Award (also known as FAMAS Awards). The screenplay was written by Joen Chinglo.

After the highly-succesful afternoon dramas Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso and Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig, GMA Network decided to move the popular love-team of Yasmien Kurdi and J.C. de Vera to primetime television. Angelika de la Cruz and dramatic actress Dina Bonnevie were casted and marked their return to the network.

Also starring in the drama series are Diana Zubiri, Jennica Garcia, Glydel Mercado, Tonton Gutierrez, Paolo Contis, Jay Aquitania, Mart Escudero, Emilio Garcia, Mike Tan, Joseph Bitangcol, Patrick Garcia, LJ Reyes, Ian de Leon, Mike Magat and Robert Ortega.

Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita is set to premiere on March 24, 2008, taking the timeslot of Marimar. Watch for the opening sequence having 400 extras and 20 helicopters, marking the program as GMA’s most ambitious drama series.
