This is a revelation made by Bea Alonzo during her birthday press conference on Thursday, that she and Zanjoe Marudo have been an official couple for 7 months now.

Zanjoe and Bea have been avoiding queries about their relationship in the past 7 months. But now, they both decided to spill the beans.

Bea said yes to Zanjoe last March 16, according to an interview by ABS-CBN entertainment website PUSH to the 24-year-old actress.

“Hindi na nga niya ako tinanong (kung kami na ba) sinabi ko lang (na kami na). Ako na nagsabi,” Bea said.

“Mapi-feel mo naman ang mga bagay na ‘yon di ba? Hindi mo na maipapaliwanag. Nagulat siya (Zanjoe) akala niya hindi totoo,” she added.

Bea got the courage to reveal her relationship with Zanjoe, after the former encouraged and told her that people won’t judge her for falling in love.

And that’s the trait Bea loves the most about Zanjoe. She said her boyfriend is not pretentious and that he says what he feels.

But will Zanjoe wear loin cloth or “bahag”, too?

“Nakakatuwa saka ang sarap din ng pakiramdam na marinig mo na noong binubuo nila ’yung proyekto ang unang pumasok sa isip nila ay ako ’yung character na gaganap so parang hindi ko naman naisip na puwedeng mangyari ’yung ganung mga bagay,” he added.

Meanwhile, Zanjoe shared that it has been hard for him to believe that their program is about to end. He said, “Parang ang bilis lang ng panahon, parang kelan lang eh pilot pa lang, presscon, pictorial, storycon. Tapos parang kakapalabas pa lang ng Kristine, daming intriga, naninibago pa kami sa characters, tapos ngayon isang linggo na lang pala, matatapos na kami. Siguro sa ganda nung storya, hindi ko na napansin na patapos na pala kami.”

His leading lady, Cristine, said the show has been a very good experience as she learned a lot from her peers, the staff, and their director Rory Quintos. “Pinaka-importanteng natutunan ko is yung pagmamahal sa trabaho. Kasi si Direk Rory, importante sa kanya yung on-time lahat ng tao. Siyempre hindi ka magpapakita sa taping na hindi mo alam kung ano na ang nangyayari sa character mo, sa kuwento. Dapat memorized lahat ng linya at naintindihan ng lahat yung kahalagahan at punto ng bawat eksena,” shared the Jewel of Romance.

Cristine said parting ways with the group is like entering a long-distance relationship. “Kumbaga matibay na yung relasyon ninyo. Tapos siyempre biglang off-air na. Para kang nasa long-distance relationship. ‘Yung alam mong nandiyan pa yung samahan, pero hindi lang kayo magkasama,” she explained.

Asked what she will miss most about the show, she said, “yung off-screen kulitan namin ng mga cast. ‘Yung pag-aalaga ng mga kasamahan ko sa akin, bilang kaibigan at bilang ka-eksena. Sobrang mami-miss ko yun.”

“Naging regular na ang Kristine sa buhay ko. Naging close ako sa kanilang lahat pati kina Direk. Masaya yung taping, kahit sino pwede ko makakuwentuhan at mapaglaruan,” he explained.

Z added the show will be one for the books as it is not only the sexiest local teleserye produced but is also one that doesn’t have a superstar.

“Sa Kristine, lahat kami hindi icon, o superstar na artista. Challenge kaagad kung paano namin mapapa-work yung show eh hindi kami sobrang celebrities. ‘Yung mga dating show ko kasi, madaming big stars. Kaya dito sa Kristine, mas pressured ako pero at the same time enjoy dahil dun sa trabaho,” said the Prince of Passion.

One more thing he won’t forget is all the intrigues that came to him during the show, especially the Twitter incident with leading lady Cristine Reyes. “Dahil doon, mas naging kilala namin ang isa’t isa. Naging parte na rin siya ng buhay ko, ng sistema ko. Mami-miss ko yung pagiging masiyahain niya, makulit at matakaw,” he said.

Zanjoe even professed his friendship with Cristine. “Kahit hindi na kami magkasama ni AA sa Kristine, Ako ang magiging tagapag-tanggol niya, ‘pag wala si Rayver. Hahaha!”

Cristine Reyes, on the other hand, said although she’s sad there’s still reason for her to be happy as the program did very well in its run.

“Masaya naman ako dahil sa naging success ng show namin. Ngayon, bihira ko lang madinig na may tumatawag sa akin by “Cristine.” Halos lahat sila, “Jewel” ang tawag sa ’kin. Masaya ako na nagmarka sa kanila ang pagganap ko,” she said.

The Jewel of Romance added that aside from her career, “Kristine” also had a positive effect in her personal life.

“Dahil sa Kristine, nagkaroon ako ng ng ibang pamilya. Si Tita Margarita (Irma Adlawan) na masungit kay Jewel sa serye, mabait kay Cristine sa tunay na buhay. Ganun din si Anna (Angel Jacob) parang nanay mag-alaga sa akin. Si Don Leon (Lito Legaspi) parang lolo sa pagbibigay ng advise. Pati nga si Alfon (Eric Fructuso) na kaaway sa serye, parang kuya sa tunay na buhay,” she explained.

Cristine intimated she also found a very close friend in her leading man Zanjoe Marudo through the show. “Nagpapasalamat ako na nakasama at nakapareha ko siya sa serye kasi marami akong natutunan sa kanya bilang artista at bilang tao,” she said.

Zanjoe and Cristine are happy that fans continue to support their pairing despite the fact that they are not a real couple. “Yun ang pinaka masayang pakiramdam dahil gusto nila kung paano niyo ginampanan yung characters. Minahal nila kami as Jewel at Bernard, saka bilang Cristine at Zanjoe,” Zanjoe said.

That’s the scenario that Prince of Passion Zanjoe Marudo and Jewel of Romance Cristine Reyes faced when they shot one of the most-awaited scenes in the second book of the hit teleserye “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine.”

This week, fans of their love team, “Zantine,” will finally have their wish granted as the epic love story of Bernard and Jewel brings television’s sexiest pair together again.

“Kristine’s” resident villain Margarita, played by Irma Adlawan, will trick Jewel (Cristine) into coming to a cave inside a property of the Fortalejo clan, where she will trap her to die. Unknown to her, Bernard (Zanjoe) will follow her to the cave, and he will find Jewel there.

Suddenly stuck in a cave with a man he was told she hated, Jewel will resist Bernard and will break down. But Bernard will remain steadfast in caring for her and will try to convince her that he is the man she loved. Will this finally pave the way for their reconciliation? Or will they both fall to the evil plans of Margarita?

Meanwhile, viewers can expect Zanjoe and Cristine to be extra passionate in their cave scenes. According to the hunk actor, he could relate to Bernard when he first saw Cristine again.

“Na-miss ko siya. Kaya nung take na kami sa scene na magkikita kami, hindi ako nahirapan kasi parang totoong nangyari lang. Naging regular na siya sa buhay ko, tapos pag pasok ng book 2, bigla kaming pinaghiwalay. Para akong nag-shoot ng bagong serye kasi halos lahat ng kaeksena ko, bago,” shared Zanjoe.

The hunk actor said being in separate sets for a long time didn’t stop them from being friends. In fact, he was able to console Cristine when she was involved in a controversy.

“Nagkita kami ni AA (Cristine) sa isang event para sa loveteam prod. Naramdaman ko na mabigat para sa kanya na nandoon kung saan lahat din ng taong involved eh present. Magkaibigan kami kaya inalalayan ko na lang siya throughout the event. Sabi ko wag na siyang umiyak,” he said.

Zanjoe said all is better for Cristine now, who has returned to her trademark cheerful and playful ways.

“Pagkatapos ng mabibigat niyang eksena, nakigulo ako sa dala niyang iPad. Kaya di rin nagtagal, naglalaro na ulit kami ni AA,” Zanjoe said.
