Bamboo Dominated this Year’s Awit Awards

The premiere rock band “Bamboo” swept major trophies at the 19th Awit Awards held at Casino Filipino including Song of the Year and Album of the Year. Their sophomore album entitled “Light, Peace, Love” also won for them Best Ballad for the song “Much Has Been Said” which was tied with Hale’s “The Day You Said Goodnight”, Best Rock and Best Performance by a Group Recording Artist and they even bagged the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Group.

The Music Video of the Year and the Best Song made for TV/Movie/Stage Play went to Rivermaya’s “You’ll Be Safe Here”. Rivermaya also clinched the Favorite Music Video award in the recently concluded Myx Music Awards.

Nina, on the other hand, won Bestselling Album of the Year Award for Nina Live! and Best Duet for her collaboration with Thor in “The Closer I Get To You.”

The Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist goes to Barbie Almalbis for “Just a Smile” and the Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist goes to Gary V. for his inspirational song “Break Me”.

Catch the delayed telecast tonight on the UHF channel aside from 23 and 21, whatever that freakin’ channel is.
