The Black Eyed Peas Set Billboard Record

The Black Eyed Peas set a record on Thursday for the longest successive No. 1 chart run by a duo or group in the 51-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The group’s second single “I Gotta Feeling” from their latest album “The E.N.D.” is still at no. 1 for the fifth week now in the Hot 100. Prior to “I Got A Feeling”, their first single “Boom Boom Pow” rested at no. 1 for 12 weeks. The group dominated the Hot 100 for an astounding 17 weeks until now.

The previous record was 16 weeks courtesy of Boyz II Men in the mid-’90s.
