Jasmine Curtis-Smith Gets to Portray a Fictional Version of Herself on TV5’s Suspense Drama Series ‘JasMINE’

Known for innovating content, TV5 is introducing a new kind of drama series to be starred by highly-acclaimed actress and sought-after celebrity endorser Jasmine Curtis-Smith where she will play a fictional version of herself.

During the blogger’s conference organized by Vidanes Celebrity Marketing and TV5 at Goldilock’s Main Office, Mandaluyong City, the Kapatid Princess expressed her excitement for her upcoming drama series–“JasMINE”–which is set to air every Tuesday night.

“The best part is that I get to play as myself,” she said.

Starmometer asked Jasmine about the difference of her new show from the traditional teleseryes. She replied with two points:

“I think one of the big difference is, it’s a foreign concept na, for example we have local artists, actors who are very well known and we guest them as themselves tulad ng ginagawa nila overseas, and their shows. For example we guested Eula Caballero as herself to show, draw the line between fiction and reality para there’s also entertainment although fictional ‘yung story, may katotohanan pa rin sa characters”

“Other than that there’s also the incorporation of online content, the entire social media world in-incorporate namin sa show namin…so hindi siya like ‘yung traditional na teleserye na always drama, tuloy tuloy lang and all just personal encounters, ngayon there’s online ano na, online posts related to the show and it’s also produced by an advertising company–Ace Saatchi & Saatchi–so iba ang dating ng quality niya,” she added.

JasMINE takes off from the time when the Kapatid Princess bagged the Cinemalaya Best Supporting Actress award. After indulging on her “itch” to do indie films, Jasmine’s on-screen manager is now determined to push her to become a mainstream superstar by clinching a highly-coveted role in the gourndbreaking series on TV5 called “Ur Loved.”

Conflict arises as Jasmine finds adversity from other TV5 artists who also aspire to get the lead role and be paired with the network’s top hunk Alexis Vergara, to be played by Artista Academy winner Vin Abrenica. And as if things cannot get any worse, Jasmine acquires a stalker (Alwyn Uytingco) who maintains a blog dedicated on her.

Aside from Abrenica, Jasmine will have two more leading men–Gerard Sison who will play as Miguel Asuncion, her young and rich suitor who comes from a powerful political clan; and Matthew Padilla who will portray the role of Inspector Ramon Ramirez, a PMA graduate assigned to investigate Jasmine’s stalker. Other cast-members of JasMINE include Nicole Estrada, Carlo Orosa, Cai Cortez, and Marvelous Alejo.

“JasMINE” is set to air every Tuesday night this March on TV5.
