BTS Brings MV of ‘ON’ to Biblical Proportion, Sets New YouTube Record
The Kinetic Manifesto film for “ON” is still trending worldwide and Big Hit Entertainment keeps the momentum by dropping the official music video for the track. Unlike previous BTS videos, this one takes the cinematic, fantastical approach with inspiration from “Game of Thrones,” “The Maze Runner,” “The Lion King,” “The Hunger Games,” “Noah,” and some Biblical motifs in the production design.
As expected, the video set a new YouTube record after amassing a whopping 10 million views within 1 hour. The group broke their previous record of 10 million views in 2 hours and 51 minutes for “Boy With Luv.”
This music video also broke the record for the highest peak viewers for a YouTube premiere with 1.54 million concurrent viewers at its release. BLACKPINK previously held this record for “Kill This Love” with 979,000 concurrent viewers during its premiere.
