‘The World of the Married’ Smashes Ratings Record of ‘Sky Castle’
The World of the Married (aka “A World of Married Couple”) registered another peak rating of 24.33% on Saturday, May 2, making it the highest-rated Korean drama in the country’s cable TV history!
According to Nielsen Korea, the 12th episode of “The World of the Married” garnered a nationwide rating of 24.33% beating the 23.77% record registered by the finale of “Sky Castle” last February 1, 2019. In Seoul, it got a rating of 26.74% Last April 18, the JTBC drama already captured the no. 1 spot when it comes to average ratings (episode 1 to present) when it hit 15% Furthermore, it premiered with 6.26%, the highest pilot rating by any JTBC program. It’s also the first-ever JTBC series to score a double-digit rating on the second episode by hitting 10% Take note that “Sky Castle” was also from the same network.
The hit K-drama also captured more than 55% of Viu’ers in Asia. With 4 episodes left and being the current “talk-of-the-town,” this show could still break its own peak and average record. The next episode airs on May 8 in South Korea and streams on Viu for other Asian countries including the Philippines 8 hours after the original broadcast.
